The Heat lost to the Hornets. LeBron only scored 20 on 6 of 16 shooting. I honestly believed that the Heat would be beating teams by 30 points each night and they'd finish 75-7. Maybe it's too soon to panic or maybe the Heat aren't as good as ESPN purported.

As for the Knicks, I'm glad Toney Douglas and Danillo Gallinari stepped up, but Amare Stoudemire has been kinda pedestrian. His stats are decent, but not great.

The heat is overrated. The only teams they will beat by 30 are the bad teams. But they did manage to hold the magic to 70 points the other night. But the magic put that on themselves. All they do is shoot 3s and when they dont make them, they loose. 75-7 are you kidding me? lmfao. I see the heat going maybe 57-25 now. They are not as good as they look. They need to find away to get Chris Bosh involved more. And they do not push the ball. Carlos Arroyo does not push the ball, he walks it up. The heat is a fast team and the ball needs to be pushed for them to really be effective. The games that they did win, it was won in a fast pace. Besides James Jones and Big Z there is big ??????s. Eddie House doesnt look like the Eddie House that was on the Celtics 2008 Championship Team. They play the Nets tomorrow, which most likely is a win.

The Heat are human. Team Leabron and Miami lost their 3rd game of the season at home in South Fla last night 11/9/10. to Utah despite James scoring 39 points. Other than Wade, the rest of the superteam has sucked including the other big free agent signing Mr. Bosh.

The Heat are now 5-3 so looks like Forest Glen pick for the Heat to win a record breaking 75 games is about to be incorrect again.B)

Also watching the Knicks, they look much improved. Not yet a NBA Championship contender though. Still if they stay healthy NY could challenge for a 7-8th seed post season spot at the end of the regular season.

The HEAT SUCK! I saw that game and this Heat team reminds of the Cavs. James runs the offense and everyone stands and watches. I am a Jerry Sloan Fan and he just beat the Heat. Milsap went nuts with 46 points and 3/3 from the 3pt line. If they want to be a contender, they have to figure out that Point Guard spot, because Carlos Arroyo doesnt play like a Point Guard. Dont forget that the Heat was up 22.

I was looking for this thread...

When LeBron "decided to take his talents to South Beach", I thought the Heat were going to be the next dynasty. Since NBA basketball has basically sucked since 2000, I was really looking forward to a team that could rival the 95-96 Chicago Bulls. LeBron and Wade are future Hall of Famers. Bosh is a perennial all star. How is a team that has three top tier players struggling? I honestly believed they'd win about 68 games. I'm starting to doubt if they'll even reach 60. In a playoff series they'd get massacred by the Celtics.

The Celtics@Heat tonight. I heard Kenny Smith say "anything shy of a championship for the Heat will get coaches fired and players traded". If the Celtics win tonight, the Heat will go 5-4. So much for all the superteam talk. Rajon Rondo is going to tear Carlos Arroyo up tonight.

The Los Angeles Lakers have started 8-0 and the New Orleans Hornets 7-0 in the Western Conference. If anyone goes 70-12 in the N.B.A., it might be one of these two teams.

San Antonio has started 6-1 and Golden State 6-2.

In 1995-1996, the Chicago Bulls did go 72-10 then they followed it up with 69-13 in 1996-1997. Best back-to-back seasons in the N.B.A..

(In 1994-1995, they were only 47-35).

The season is early. The Miami Heat could still warm up and finish 64-18.

I am sure Pat Riley will return to the coaching ranks from his role as heat President/Part Owner if this struggles continues into January 2010.

Pat already stated that he would not return to the bench. Eric Spolstra ismt going anywhere.

I don't buy it until we get to Feb.-March right before the playoffs start that Spolstra is safe. Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones in the NFL stated a few weeks ago that now ex-coach Wade Phillips job was guranteed until the end of the current season. We all know what happened to Mr. Phillips.

Not to mention the C's beat Team Leabron/Wade aka Miami Heat again last night in South Fla.

Pat isnt comming back. And Even if he does it wont make a difference because the heats point guard situation still needs to be fixed before anything. And Chris Bosh needs put up 20 and 10. Something he hasnt done with the heat yet.

Not to mention they (Miami) don't have a defensive specialist i.e Power Forward/center who can get defensive rebounds and some presence there.

Bosh isn't gonna be a double-double guy on this team...

I see how the Heat play while on offense...

Wade & Lebron take turns penetrating the defense (or creating their own shot)...

Everyone else on the court are 3rd options (yes, 3rd.. as in, if Wade/Lebron is bringing it up the court, HE's his own first option, LeBron/Wade is 2nd, and everyone else is tertiary).... That's not team ball... that's why I don't see this team getting over 60 wins...

This doesn't leave room for Bosh to play to type of game he was so accustomed to playing, back when he was in Toronto....

Goes with the saying "There's only one ball !"...

Bosh is learning this the hard way....

Bosh is not the type to bump bodies with big's in the league...

This is why you have bums like paul millsap droppin 46 on you...

The idea of a "big three" works in, for example, Boston...

Garnett (consistent rebounder, a big that can score), Pierce (ball-handler, playmaker), and Allen (sharpshooter) complement each other perfectly.... think of it as, you can run a 3 on 3 (NBA style) with a team like that...

Wade, LeBron, and Bosh in a 3 on 3 would only have pull in the streets...

I mean, both Wade & Lebron are ball-handlers, playmakers, and Bosh is a playmaker... this leaves absolutely no room for a consistent [shooter or rebounder]...

...and this is what you're seeing so far w/ the 2010 Miami Heat.

prosecution rests.....

Well said bro. The Heat should have signed a defensive specialist instead of Bosh. I know Bosh is a boderline NBA all star(was in recent years with Toronto)but it's like having too many sluggers(HR Hitters)in Baseball and not enough talent for rest of the team.

It's still early but with the Celtics, Lakers and Hornets off to great starts, sorry to bust the bubble at the Execs at ESPN but Miami may not even reach the NBA Finals. We shall see.

5-4 Sorry Heat. And they wonder why alot of people dont like them. The Heat will not reach the NBA finals. Just as B35 said bums like Milsap drop 46. Milsap went on Ray Allen mode at the end of the 4th qtr on the Heat.

Right now, the only contenders in the NBA is Lakers, Celtics, Mavs. And ima go out on the limb and say Utah also.

Orlando: They have gotten bad, there are not the same team they used to be. That 2009 team they should have kept. Hedo was a killer on that team, along with Rafer Alston and Courtney Lee. Ever since they added Vince Carter, they have been on a down fall. Stan Van Gundy has moved Rashard Lewis to the SF Postion, and he clearly doesnt look good there. Stan Should have kept him at the PF Postion where he was a match up nightmare for the bigger/slower 4s. And by adding Quientin Richardson, is just a bust. This guy plays no defense what so ever and all he does is throw up 3s. All in all, the Magic are no longer contenders in my book, but they will make some noise in the Playoffs.

I haven't been watching Orlando to make that same declaration (yet), like I have been the Heat (then again, Heat games is being shoved down our throats), but from what I've seen, Orlando, in a word, is:

Stagnant.

They're not that breakout team that people expect them to be....

...and absolutely right, 553... Quentin Richardson is a bigger version of Eddie House... that's ALL those two do is chuck up 3's... fitting how both of them had stint's in Phoenix under the Mike D'antoni era - and you know what his teams are known for doing (lighting up the scoreboard)... and not doing (playing defense)

Shifting off NBA and Hockey for a minute. Manny Pacquiao won another title in boxing before nearly 100,000 people at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. He easily beat Antonio Margarito, to continue his claim as best 'pound for pound' the best fighter on the planet. Not to mention Pacquaio is now in the discussion of at least being in the top 20 of best overall fighters of all time, not just in the middle weight class. Here link.

Guys as a kid I was a boxing fan watching Sugar Ray, Holmes, Hagler, Durant (Duran LOL mistype) and later Tyson, Jones, Holfield and Lewis, among boxing best in last 25-30 years. Now i only watch it occasionally. I only seen a few Pacquiao fights so is he that good?

^^ do you mean roberto "no mas" duran? lmao !!

how you make a man say no mas (no more) during a fight... that shit tickles me....

I don't know of any durant in boxing... probably a typo.

yeah, I grew up watching tyson, holyfield, and later, roy jones & lennox lewis... after lewis' reign as heavyweight champ, that's when boxing died (and MMA stole its fans)....

anyway, You got me beat, bro - I don't watch boxing at all anymore.

speaking of MMA (which I don't watch either)...

what's this I'm hearing about a merger between UFC & some other MMA league?

Yup another mistype. That "No Mas" Duran.:cool: Anyhow here clip of the infamous Duran-Lenoard II aka the "no mas' fight from 1980.

A few people have always claim that this match was 'fixed.'

1)the No Mas fight aka Duran-Leonard II 1980.

2)Howard Cosell post fight interview

^^ beat me to it.

I spent $55 on Knicks tickets, thinking they would win at least 40 games this season. It looks like it's another Lottery season. Oh well, at least I'll get to see Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer shred the Knicks defense.

you figure 39 wins would put the knicks at about 6th place in the east this year....

Even in a bad league with only 5-6 really good teams combined, from both divisions(east and west)I think 39 wins will get the #7-#8 seed (last playoff berths) in the East.

So Knicks although not winning a title this season if things went well for them and no major injuries should contend for the last post season spots.

Never put an seed down from the rip. Because the 8th seeded Thunder took the Lakers to a Game 6 last year, and dont forget Game 6 was almost the Thunder if it wasnt for that last second shot from Gasol. O and dont forget about the Knicks that went to the Finals in 1998-1999 as a 8 Seed.
