CenSin Posted November 25, 2010 Share #76 Posted November 25, 2010 Has anyone thought about looking at bus maps for some inspiration? Where there are thick bands of colors, I'm sure there is a need for subway service…
Baseball02 Posted December 1, 2010 Author Share #77 Posted December 1, 2010 A Small Update: The Extended through the old Culver El. Last stop is now Ditmas Av. (Transfer to the ) But I STILL forgot to edit the guide which STILL says that the is Broadway Local!
T to Dyre Avenue Posted December 1, 2010 Share #78 Posted December 1, 2010 Great map. If only those and extensions to eastern Queens were real.
Law Posted December 1, 2010 Share #79 Posted December 1, 2010 I think Lower Manhattan (South Ferry) is a bit overcrowded with trains, Now the goes there to?

EE Broadway Local Posted December 21, 2010 Share #83 Posted December 21, 2010 Why the need for a <1> when Broadway stations (particularly north of 125th Street) have decent spacing?
Roadcruiser1 Posted December 22, 2010 Share #84 Posted December 22, 2010 Exactly there is a reason why the (1)/(9) skip stop service failed in the first place. Move along people.
NX Express Posted December 22, 2010 Share #85 Posted December 22, 2010 The <SIR> runs express to Great Kills.
IRT Bronx Express Posted December 22, 2010 Share #86 Posted December 22, 2010 Exactly there is a reason why the (1)/(9) skip stop service failed in the first place. Move along people.Imagine if there was a skip stop pattern from Van Cortlandt Park to South Ferry...
NX Express Posted December 22, 2010 Share #87 Posted December 22, 2010 Imagine if there was a skip stop pattern from Van Cortlandt Park to South Ferry... : All stops. : 242 Street, Rector Street. On topic: A Queens-Bronx line. Maybe connected to a cross-Bronx and Jamaica-Flushing line.
Baseball02 Posted December 23, 2010 Author Share #88 Posted December 23, 2010 Fixed the on the legend. It says Broadway Express now. Jay Street - Metrotech Station (Transfer , , , )
IRT Bronx Express Posted December 23, 2010 Share #89 Posted December 23, 2010 The <1> doesn't make sense... there is no middle track between Dyckman and 157 Street, so express service is a no there. If you want express; 242 St to Dyckman, local all the way to 157, then express to 96 Street. : All stops.: 242 Street, Rector Street. The old South Ferry did handle both the (1)/(9) back in the old days. Unless you meant the terminates there, and turns around via the unused loops. Law Posted December 24, 2010 Share #90 Posted December 24, 2010 I see a huge congestion problem at Dekalb Av, you might as well make (U) go superexpress instead of stopping at Delkalb Av.
Broadway Local Posted December 24, 2010 Share #91 Posted December 24, 2010 Mistakes: The Bronx: What's the station between 180 St/Bedford Pk Blvd? Queens: I don't see what's the diamond needed for. Manhattan: The <1> service is not needed. This is just like the failed skip-stop service. I don't think that South Ferry Station need to handle 5 lines. Not every line needs to stop at South Ferry. Brooklyn: I don't see why the DeKalb Avenue Station need to handle 6 lines. Like what Law said, the (U) should go super express so there will not be a bunch to delays. There shouldn't be a rush-hour route to the West End. The is good enough.
Baseball02 Posted December 24, 2010 Author Share #92 Posted December 24, 2010 The <J> is a Rush-Hour J to South Ferry. I will also fix the DeKalb Avenue congestion problem in the next update.
Baseball02 Posted January 2, 2011 Author Share #93 Posted January 2, 2011 Updates: Fixed the DeKalb Avenue congestion problem. The (U) skips it now. The has been sent into the Bronx. It terminates at 149th Street in the Bronx with transfer to the train. No more to West End

JWeber279 Posted January 8, 2011 Share #98 Posted January 8, 2011 I'm really enjoying this thread. I have a few suggestions (NIMBY's be damned!): 1) Extending the northbound from 207th/Broadway under the Harlem River to the Bronx, up Riverdale Avenue from W. 230th Street and up the Henry Hudson Parkway and Riverdale Avenue to 263rd Street, serving Riverdale. 2) Instead of sending both the and to Kings Plaza, split the off at Flatlands Avenue, running East past Starrett City, then turning SE at Vandalia Avenue and running to Gateway Plaza. 3) Always felt the should run express from Church to Jay St, stopping at 7th Avenue and Bergen Street (Lower). The can handle the local stops. 4) Eliminate the to the Javits Center. Run it to 10th Avenue/14th Street/Chelsea Piers. Extend the down 11th Avenue/West Street, stopping at 23rd, 14th, Gansevoort, Houston, Canal, Chambers and end at the World Financial Center. How does all this sit? Roadcruiser1 Posted January 8, 2011 Share #99 Posted January 8, 2011 Extending the to Lower Manhattan isn't needed they already have Seventh, and Eighth Avenue services, and although the unserved areas down there looks big on the map the truth is most of the WFC is 1/4 of a mile away from the WTC Station for the . NX Express Posted January 8, 2011 Share #100 Posted January 8, 2011 3) Always felt the should run express from Church to Jay St, stopping at 7th Avenue and Bergen Street (Lower). The can handle the local stops. That would not work at all (the local part)
