Sairey Posted January 5, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted January 5, 2011 No, I don't think so... I keep reading conflicting answers on various websites. Some say yes, others say no... I've emailed MTA, but I don't know if I'll get a response.

checkmatechamp13 Posted January 5, 2011 Share #8 Posted January 5, 2011 I heard that any MetroCards after that will be refunded on a prorated basis, based on how many days are left. My advice is not to use them, so you get your full refund for the MetroCard. Like everybody said, call Customer Service. Or, you can try this number (I forgot what department it is, but it helped me get something I needed): (212)-878-7469 Good luck.
Messino Posted January 5, 2011 Share #9 Posted January 5, 2011 If you bought them with a credit/debit card say you lost em.

Kingsbridge Bus Posted January 6, 2011 Share #11 Posted January 6, 2011 Correct me if im wrong but dosen't the $89 monthly card expire early next month. I heard it was only the weekly card that was expiring on the 10th.
checkmatechamp13 Posted January 6, 2011 Share #12 Posted January 6, 2011 See this: http://www.mta.info/mta/fares_discounts_101230.html All types of Unlimited MetroCards must be activated by January 10th to get the full value.
Donald Posted January 6, 2011 Share #13 Posted January 6, 2011 I just got a refund for my 1 day unlimited. You have to mail or take the card to 3 Stone St. They will then send you a check in the mail, even if you take the cards there in person.

brokecrazy Posted January 9, 2011 Share #17 Posted January 9, 2011 There are people selling cards on Craigslist all the time. Yes, you can get a refund when the fare goes up. I think you can even get a refund if an unlimited card expires without being used, but I am not 100% sure, I think I read it somewhere.
