Quill Depot Posted August 18, 2011 Share #3 Posted August 18, 2011 Fox is right. R160's run 10x better than R32 and 15x better than R42's.
VIP Posted August 18, 2011 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2011 why ask such a question with such an obvious answer? The R160's are far most reliable and dependable all NTT's for that matter. Least Reliable are clearly the 40 to 50 yr old cars R42's and R32's

R32 3838 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #14 Posted August 19, 2011 I still find it funny how the R32's are more reliable than the R46's, This is why I saw 4 trainsets of R32's on the during the overnight hours and they ran good, but the R62's are the most reliable out of the whole entire IRT Fleet
Quill Depot Posted August 19, 2011 Share #15 Posted August 19, 2011 I still find it funny how the R32's are more reliable than the R46's, This is why I saw 4 trainsets of R32's on the during the overnight hours and they ran good, but the R62's are the most reliable out of the whole entire IRT Fleet R46's and R44's were not biult right. They suck! R32's are the best cars (reliability-wise) in NYC Subway History.
R188 7857 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #16 Posted August 19, 2011 I still find it funny how the R32's are more reliable than the R46's, This is why I saw 4 trainsets of R32's on the during the overnight hours and they ran good, but the R62's are the most dirty out of the whole entire IRT Fleet FIXED!! The most reliable cars are of course, the NTT's, no doubt..... R62A's are next... Then R68/A's..... Then R32's.......
Trainmaster5 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #17 Posted August 19, 2011 While the NTT appear to be the most reliable cars right now take into context the ages of the cars they're being compared to. IMO the NTT cars will never have the overall reliability and lifespan of some of the other equipment running today or in the past. Quite simply the more electrical components a unit has the more prone it is to malfunction. "Murphy's Law" is still viable no matter what a unit looks like today. Just my opinion though. Carry on.
