error46146 Posted January 3, 2012 Share #9 Posted January 3, 2012 I've been chasing trains and buses for almost 7 years now, and have been to most parts of the City..there is no way I can remember all of this lol Some now-defunct buses I've photographed (that I can remember right now) however were the old M6 via B'way, M1 to South Ferry, B39, B51, M15/Bx12 LTD's, Q59 under Fresh Pond, Q53 via 63rd Drive, Q65A, and plenty of GMC RTS's in private bus line colors with an MTA sticker slapped on I'm going to admit I do tend to frequent some places more than others - the lines that I've probably photographed the most recently are the routes near my home (Q11/21/29/38/53/59/60), Downtown Brooklyn routes (B25/26/38/41/45/61/67/69/103), Manhattan's East Side routes (M9/15/22/66/100/101/102/103) and parts of the Bronx as I have been going up there a lot lately. checkmatechamp13 Posted January 4, 2012 Share #13 Posted January 4, 2012 Eh, eventually. Honestly, I'm only in SI a few times a year. I'm there the least of all the boroughs, just since it's such a shlep down there. Hopefully make my way down there eventually, but every time I'm there I end up in Stapleton and I honestly don't love shooting pictures if I can hear the shooting behind me... I'm sure it's a fine neighborhood, but I gotta trust a place pretty well to stay if I hear gunshots! Stapleton's pretty rough, but it's definitely no worse than the rougher parts of Harlem. Here's a few suggestions: *Take the X10/X12/X42 to Forest Avenue/Richmond Avenue, take a few shots of the routes in the area, and then take the S44 or S48 back to St. George for the ferry to Manhattan. * Take the X12/30/42 to Forest Avenue/South Avenue, get a few shots of the routes in that area, and then take the S40 or S48 (but definitely not the S46 because it's slower) back to St. George. * Take any route to the Eltingville Transit Center and get some shots of the local routes there (you can catch the S74 back to St. George) When you go out to SI, is it for busfanning purposes, or you're traveling for something else and just take some pictures while you're there?
