lilbluefoxie Posted September 11, 2012 Share #501 Posted September 11, 2012 Has anyone seen the new bus stop area in Walt Whitman mall, I happen to go past it earlier today while I was there, its all fresh and new and nice, with shelters and designated spaces for each route and service that uses it. Nassau Bus, Suffolk Transit and Huntington Transit.
Joel Up Front Posted September 11, 2012 Share #502 Posted September 11, 2012 I don't know why I'm not seeing the '03 Orion Vs out as much anymore. It's either an NG or an older Orion V.
FamousNYLover Posted September 11, 2012 Share #503 Posted September 11, 2012 16:20 n62 ACHR Loop I took was only me. No one else. Next, I planned to do n62 Bayview Loop.

Nassau Bus, Suffolk Transit and Huntington Transit. I have pics of the n79 on a wrapped bus at the new bus shelter area on my site. NICE has put up new signs that they made there and the layout is very organized like you said!
VWM Posted September 11, 2012 Share #505 Posted September 11, 2012 Saw a para transit driver writing something at the wheel... I think it was 2158
Joel Up Front Posted September 12, 2012 Share #506 Posted September 12, 2012 I'd love some of the crack the was on when they decided to remove the "Stop Requested" Sign from the front of the bus and instead leave it where the passengers are behind that partition. What's the point of that little partition, anyway?

Joel Up Front Posted September 12, 2012 Share #508 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Our NGs don't have the STOP REQUEST sign both near the B/O and above the seats like they do in the city. Why did we order them like that? The 2011 NGs do, but we only have 38 of them.... Edited September 12, 2012 by Joel Up Front

I was told the bus operators still have a stop request light on their dashboard on all the NGs, so who needs the 2nd stop requested sign? People are suppose to be behind that white line anyway. And like Brett bought up, it wouldn't matter since there's an dashboard light for the stop request.
User Posted September 12, 2012 Author Share #511 Posted September 12, 2012 Looks like on Sunday, more than 20 minute delays on all routes out of Hempstead Terminal are going to bite riders in the a**, especially considering how packed that area is. http://nicebus.com/Passenger_Information/Service_Alerts/index.html

FamousNYLover Posted September 13, 2012 Share #514 Posted September 13, 2012 I sent email to Veolia from my email and I got replied. Dear Mr. Endo, Thank you so much for your concern regarding Sunday's Central American Day parade in Hempstead. Please note that our Transportation Department has mapped out routes for all of our buses to get in and out of the Hempstead Transit Center on this day. Buses and patrons will not be denied access into the HTC due to the parade. The parade, will however, cause delays for all incoming and outgoing buses from the Terminal. We have posted a service alerts regarding this delay on our NICE website, Facebook page and in the Hempstead Terminal Center. Thank you again for your inquiry and thank you for riding with NICE. Best regards, Erika Richards
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted September 14, 2012 Share #515 Posted September 14, 2012 My plan for n6x success is Make it run the full route. Local stops in both directions from Jamaica Bus Terminal to 179 street. Express to Franklin Avenue, then all local stops. Make a Meacheam Avenue stop and a belmont Park Stop. Make the n6x start earlier every 20 minutes during racing days, like Yuki said
VWM Posted September 15, 2012 Share #516 Posted September 15, 2012 Was just in North Merrick on jerusalem, saw an eastbound n55 with only 4/5 people... Few seconds later a westbound n54 comes by SRO. Just some observations.... (Saturday midday I you ask)
Burrstone Posted September 15, 2012 Share #517 Posted September 15, 2012 So people go westbound SRO and never come back? The plan is working, they must be going to queens and leaving Nassau to the people who have cars. Well done Mangano, well done! [evil laugh] Muhhahaha Muhahaha Muhahaha [/evil laugh]
VWM Posted September 15, 2012 Share #518 Posted September 15, 2012 Wait a minute... The n54 was eastbound and the n55 was westbound... Sorry for the error
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted September 17, 2012 Share #519 Posted September 17, 2012 Wait a minute... The n54 was eastbound and the n55 was westbound... Sorry for the error Who cares, they are still leaving to Suffolk, even though transportation sucks. Maybe they are moving to the 110 corridor or the Montauk Hwy corridor.
Burrstone Posted September 17, 2012 Share #520 Posted September 17, 2012 I saw an Orion V on the 19 the sign displayed n19, the next bus I passed was a 1700 or 1800 (not wrapped) prepared to take a video of the new sign, that bus still displayed N19. Thought that was odd that they programmed the bus that was going to fazed out before a bus that will remain in service. Why are they even wasting time reprogramming signs on buses that will be retired in a short time? Maybe NICE will keep some of the V's a round for spares? When do they reprogram the signs? When they're being wrapped?
Burrstone Posted September 18, 2012 Share #521 Posted September 18, 2012 Saw 1836 (wrapped bus) in Bellmore this evening with the sign reprogrammed showing n19...
VWM Posted September 18, 2012 Share #522 Posted September 18, 2012 The new programs are on some buses, none of the 1500s that ive seen have the new n51, but certain 1600s do...
VWM Posted September 20, 2012 Share #523 Posted September 20, 2012 My observations in east meadow: The n47 toward Hempstead was doing better than the n46. They are rewrapping the able-ride. I believe is saw 2255 with a new able ride wrap. N48s are SRO. One displayed "next bus please" when I saw it
Joel Up Front Posted September 27, 2012 Share #524 Posted September 27, 2012 1838 has a different stop request sign. The rear one says STOP REQUEST but the one above the B/O reads "STOP REQUESTED" like they normally do. 1839 finally has a number in the front, but it came in the font it had when it came from Orion.
