Well, looks like the West 4 Street problem went away for now, but here's another one:

Service Change  Posted: 09/06/2018  8:03PM

Northbound (W) trains are stopping along the  (Q) line from 57 St-7 Av and end at 96 St.

(N) and (W) trains are running with delays in both directions.

These service changes are because of switch problems at Astoria-Ditmars Blvd.

Expect delays in (N) , (Q) , and (W) train service.

With this kind of a reroute, you can bet on more delays. Why not de-interline the local and express in this situation?

This will most certainly evolve?

Delays  Posted: 09/09/2018 12:51AM

(F) trains are running with delays in both directions because of an investigation of a loss of power at Avenue X

Updates:

1:00 AM - There are 'Delayed' readings across the board on the Culver Line, and there is bunching on the upper Culver Line. Looks like trains are being held

1:03 AM - 'Delayed' readings are showing up at all Manhattan Stations going southbound, and at stations south of Church Avenue going northbound

1:11 AM - There appears to be nothing moving south of Church Avenue. (G) train service is only running on the NB side of the northern Culver Line. SB (G) trains will be delayed.

1:16 AM - Apparently, service has resumed.

There is no (A) service south of Broad Channel. There is shuttle train service operating in both directions between Far Rockawat-Mott Av and Rockaway Park Beach-116 St. See a station agent to receive a courtesy pass for continuing service. Consider taking the Q52 or Q53 between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park-Beach 116 St. Here are directions: http://bit.ly/2N47Fi4

From Subway Time:

Some (5) trains are running via the (2) in Manhattan.

Southbound (6) trains are stopping along the (4) line from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to Bowling Green.

This service change is because a train's brakes were automatically activated at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall.

Expect delays on (4) , (5) and (6) trains in both directions.

34 St-bound (7) express trains are running local Mets-Willets Point to Queensboro Plaza.

Some Main St-bound (7) trains are running express from 74 St-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point.

These service changes are because of a network communication issue at 82 St-Jackson Hts.

I just wanted to take a second to thank folks -- especially @BM5 via Woodhaven -- who so diligently take the time to post service changes here. It's really appreciated -- I like seeing what I've missed.

Update to the above:

We have returned the stalled train to 65 St and are working to restore regular service as soon as possible.
At this time, 71 Av-bound (M) and (R) trains continue to operate express from Queens Plaza to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av.
For service to/from bypassed stations, please continue to take a Manhattan-bound (M) or (R) train. For service from 36 St (Qns), 46 St, or Northern Blvd, see a station agent to receive a courtesy pass for continuing train or bus service.
There is reduced Jamaica 179 St-bound (F) service north of Lexington Av/63 St. [does this mean (F) are going to 96/2nd?]
There is reduced 71 Av-bound (M) service north of Delancey St-Essex St.
There is reduced Forest Hills-bound (R) train service north of Court St.
Continue to expect extensive delays in both directions in (E), (F), (M) and (R) service until we can move the stalled train from 65 St.

Monday Madness...

Here comes the West 4 Street Signal problem rearing its butt again, but now it has a companion.

Not on the status page, based on Subway Time:

SB (A)(C)(E) are delayed pretty badly around the 34 Street area. Stay tuned to sew whether this evolves.

The last three (D) trains that were suppose to go express in the morning actually ran local and there wasn't a single southbound (B) in sight. Crowding was insane.

Then I get stuck in this (N) train madness.

That just highlights how bad service can get in the Rockaways.

Rockaways service is always poor- 20-30 minute headways on summer weekends are rather normal, so much so that I was surprised to only wait 7 mins for a train to RPK after missing one over the summer. Makes me wonder if the low ridership (mainly on the RPK branch) is a result of the poor service they provide.

Here's how I belive something:

If your going to provide poor service on a line, there's a 90% chance that lines ridership will stay low.
