The problem is that none of those VINs with 1608x, 1609x and the 16113 that's up in Winnipeg (might be our 21093) are clearing in Carfax just yet. So until they get inspected by the State, I just can't tell yet.

Just found out that MCI is changing up the way it assigns VINs.

Our old familiar VIN prefix of 1M8PDMNA is going away for our cruisers.

Depending if the coaches have a spring brake release, the new VIN prefix is either going to be 1M8D2W90 or 1M8D2W91.

Private Carrier:
Remaining 127 buses will be allocated to the private carriers below. This completes the 1104 bus contract for the D4500CT  by 1st  quarter of 2022

Next phase is a separate contract spec for 290 cruisers sometime in mid 2021 and a final determination by 2022. It is likely NJT will receive the new next gen

MCI D45 CRT aka VIN 1M8X  that replaces the D4500CT 1M8P 
This particular variant is not in production by MCI just yet. 

This contract is meant to replace the fleet for Oradell, Fairview, Market St (290). None of these garages have the capacity to handle 45’s 
Goal is to merge the cruisers to the new northern bus garage project in Ridgefield Park NJ which recently received court approval Nov 16, 2020 to proceed to legally acquire the land.

Didn't know Wayne was still getting more buses. Maybe to replace their 9000s/7100s?

The buses confirmed to be built in Winnipeg so far are 21065, 21068, 21073 and 21077-21086. There are a bunch of others on the horizon. MCI will also apparently be building 2021 D4505's, so some of those serial sequences may already be assigned to some of that model.

South Jersey still needs about 15 more new buses as well.   Egg Harbor Twp is short about 6, Turnersville could probably use 8 more ( at least) Camden only needs 2 maybe even just 1.  NABIs are being used on MCI routes again which in turn is also stretching the NABI supply thin.

South Jersey may need to transfer buses in from other garages. Right now, the 2021 buses are slated to go to (in fleet number order) Ironbound, Howell, Meadowlands and Wayne.
