Thanks for sharing.

Both open gangway trains should be in service within a few weeks. Let's cross our fingers.

How many r211's are currently in service on the A?

Maybe not until next year as things got delayed after the gearbox mater. I believe only 3 sets are running at this time.

As of November 18th the following 3 trainsets are in revenue service:

1. 4060-4069 (Pilot trainset)

2. 4130-4139 (Newest Production trainset)

3. 4110-4114+4125-4129

4125-4129 were the first to return linked with 4070-4074, however 4070-4074 has been missing in action since November 9 and instead 4110-4114 took its place.

I have not witnessed 4140-4149 at all yet it should be the next trainset to debut.

Thanks for the update.

I got lucky today and rode 4130-4139.

I wasn't chasing trains. I was simply traveling from Harlem to Midtown and the newest r211 was the first train that came.

What happen to the set 4070-4074 did it go out of service again or it’s is being rotated with 4125-4129 or 4110-4114. But thanks for the update.

So...any other  R211s that came back in service from gearbox issues?

Plus, can y'all gimme the whole list of R211s in service please (Like goddamn, what happened to 4130-39?)

As of November 27th (the last time I observed the A line)

1. 4060-4069 (Pilot Set)

2. 4130-4139

3. 4110-4114+4129-4125 (First Production Set to return)

4. 4100-4104+4120-4124 (Second Production Set to return)

Have not observed any new sets burn-in testing.

While I am unable to confirm the status of the R-211T it seems quite implicative that it will run in service very soon. I was told that this month was when it was supposed to debut but so far there is no further word and the month is almost over.

So, ig they take em to CIY to get their issues fixed...got it. This set might be next in line for service

CI should have inspected the gear boxes WAAAAY before sending the R211s over to Pitkin Yard for training and revenue operations. If not then they wouldn’t have this problem right now. The only problem I see in today’s era is human errors. (Stop looking at your phone when in class. Your safety is more important than your electronic device).

Still no word on when the other R211 sets are returning? Those few weeks where we had all of them were amazing, it was like every (A) train was an R211 lol

I think that they are testing the fix with the production set that returned and also with the new set that came from Kawasaki.  It hasn't been 30 days yet.

One's back in service (4070-74, 4125-29), 4130-39 (new/8th set) are in service.

You posted this yourself on November 4th, but wasn't that one pulled again?  Or at least half that set.

That would be 27 days as of today.
