  1. As far as the Q25/65 go, they both need their proposed southern terminals changed. I don't see anyone riding the Q65 along liberty Av, and the Q25 has no business running on Merrick Blvd. The Q65 would be a better candidate on Merrick bc theoretically for faster service it could serve the Jamaica bus terminal and keep the connection to the at 169 St. If need be (and I see this more likely) it could keep the connection to Jamaica center and take the proposed Q25 route on Merrick. The Q25 can stay serving LIRR. As far as the Q83 goes, worse case scenario is they reroute the Q3 on the Q83 to keep the latter a rush route since most of the Q3 north of liberty can be served by the Q2. I would rather just let the Q83 remain as a local route since its not exactly as busy as most of the other Jamaica routes. Another alternative would be for a new (separate) Q93 that would basically be the Q83 to Queens Village to take place as the local while keeping the Q83 rush status.
  2. I try my best not to do that and only stay a certain distance. But yes I'm definitely noting not to be stupid like that
  3. So that's even more indication that 8964 will start service by the beginning of September
  4. This is why (although clearly dangerous) if the bus I'm trying to get on is coming to my stop and not close enough to the curb I go I to the street and wave it down and if it tries to speed up and not attempt to get into the curb I get as close to the passing bus as possible (without getting hit) so it would be forced to stop and If they still don't let me on i take my notes and report them to supervision. One incident I had while doing this was on the Bx22 where the Bx22 driver was so mad he actually assaulted me with his driver protection door and made a mark on my right hand. So best believe I took that to the MTA and they're lucky I didn't press charges bc I was so close to doing so but I never saw the driver again so I didn't bother.
  5. The B15 already has alternatives north of Sutter Av so it's not exactly the end of the world. I'm not saying don't send the B15 to JFK if the ridership isn't there but unlike most routes, not much isn't gonna be affected if the B15 is moved. There are alternatives even if not the best. For example If you coming from the Bed-Stuy/Crown Heights area there's the to NL for the JFK Connection and the to the into Queens for the Q10/airtrain.
  6. You talking about the new MTA security? Everyone knows they a big waste of tax $$ as well. Unless it's someone like NYPD and Eagle Team (and even then you still see some of them bsing around) nobody going anywhere.
  7. 6023, 6027, 5992-5993 have bike racks This means 5991-5993, 5997-5998, 6000, 6002-6006, 6011-6013, 6016, 6023-6024, 6026-6028, 6031, 6036, 6042, 6083, 6085 on the Q44 (25/48 units) use bike racks, with over 50% of Q44 buses using bike racks units.
  8. From what I'm hearing, it makes sense for these changes Quill already is operating Electric units (with/without reconstruction) so they could get away with not getting AEBs without too much political pressure, and with everything with MTA, the delay of Jamaica Depot construction could push AEBs away from there to go elsewhere. That leaves the original 4 depots which are: I could see a 15/15/15/15 split because no other depots are getting/planned to get electric units at this time.
  9. Not sure if this is happening often again, but it seems like an apparent shortage of CP drivers yet again, as the 4:40pm and 5:40pm QM11 trips are cancelled for the day. Just saw this on my Twitter (sorry, "X") feed.
  10. 1. What website are you getting this information from? 2. What about the Manhattan bus redesign? 3. Is there note of a Staten Island Local bus redesign?
  11. My question is how would this affect omny? Is it gonna cap out after reaching the $34 or are we still using the 12+ taps and free bs? (With calculations it indicates it really doesn't matter, 12 taps equilate to $34.80, so if there is a said cap at $34, you're only saving 80 cents. Wow.)
  12. 6036 added to the list. Will be listing buses as I spot them but the Q44 units are getting theirs installed quickly this weekend
  13. What's funny is that it was previously announced that no route that "duplicates another" could qualify under the free fare program. .... Which is what the Q4/M116 technically do.
  14. The routes I don't mention are the routes I believe will not be touched in the new plan, including the Q45. The Q45 is basically the Q43 to LN LIRR so it'll be mostly mirroring the Q43 west of LN Pkwy.
