  1. I always wondered why there wasn't a "local Bronx portion" between Fordham and Flushing. This route could be very useful and even a couple stops on the current Q44 could be served by the local instead. Iirc pending finalization of construction, all trips on the Q44 are supposed to be sent to Jamaica depot to reduce unnecessary short turns and layovers for reliefs. Still doesn't excuse the extension to make trips longer. The Q44 is one of the handful of routes in the city that became so successful it hurts itself in the long run. Imagine being the OP that had to drive on the Q44 pre-1999. Even the Q20A/B is only able to do so much. I remember reading the (original, and not pre redesign, the original original) Bx36 was also replaced slowly by the Q44, giving it more weight to carry. If they needed a Bronx-Queens connector, could have found a way to make an "express route" between West Farms and Flushing. All this short turning still gonna upset passengers. The main problem is layovers. There is definitely not enough space for both the Bx9 and Q44 to be rerouted over there. At the very least, the Q44 is still gonna have to end at/still serve West Farms so the rerouted is basically moot. Besides, the current Q44 route between Parkchester and West Farms is already as straightforward as it can get. No need to add more unnecessary turns especially on narrow streets.
  2. What time did you catch this bus? Do you regularly take it around that time? If you do make sure you pay attention to the pattern and if it's the same driver what I would do is record him starting the bus up, putting up the NIS and skipping you. Used to have a Q44 driver do that on the regular and I did that enough times that eventually he was moved out.
  3. It also sounds similar to the R110A, albeit a bit quieter
  4. Tell that to the people that already think every bus route is free
  5. I just would like to remind everyone at the end of the day a bus is a bus. It's not that serious to attend others bc they said they don't like Xcelsiors and bc they don't like LFS. Personally, it feels like many recent orders have slipped from quality and started going on quantity. However, they been fixed as time goes by. The difference between the most recent issues with the 2022 9xxx and 8xxx buses is one was completely taken out for long periods of time. With the 2015 buses, the main issue I have with them is the problematic signs that glitched colors before they just now replaced them on a couple buses. And before anyone attacks me on this, a GOOD CHUNK of the LFSA pre-2016 have the same signs and glitch in a similar matter. It was just more noticeable in the 7000's. Would also like to remind everyone that even if it technically wasn't rushed, the MTA had to add 72 buses from the option order to the 7000's because the 6000's were rusting to the point they became unusable for service. And with NF being very famous in cities (and taking over many former bus factories) all over the country it was probably easy to build another 70 so buses bc they probably had enough workers to build the buses and test them in a matter of days. Edit: what I meant was NF started to purchase many companies beginning in the mid-2010's, but the most notable lot bought at the time was NABI's lot, which was purchased and phased out with the Xcelsior product line.
  6. 8379, 8398 KB to MV, parked in MV, unclear if it will be in revenue service at this time
  7. I think bringing back the Q75 is one of the few good ideas from this redesign. Hopefully it remains in the final redesign due for release sometime in the upcoming months.
  8. There is no rules that state the MTA Bus order has to wait for the NYCT order to finish delivery. The Prevosts (1557-1606) did not wait for the MTA bus order to finish up to replace older NYCT units.
  9. I just got mind blown because of the supposed rule of no straight diesels allowed in Manhattanville.
  10. I expect movements to happen soon (by next weekend) and yes ik they're may be hiccups here and there but if I don't see a bus in revenue service/with decals I usually don't consider it a move.
  11. 5510 was only there for fueling/swing. Still assigned to MQ at the moment For transfers/retirements, be sure we do our best make sure it's confirmed to be moved/retired. A missing farebox or a quick move to a depot does not mean an assignment is made.
  12. Does anyone know when this year's spring pick is supposed to begin?
  13. Just wondering if there a website for the NJT roster since ik ttmg hasn't updated their rosters in 1+ yrs?
  14. Most of the stuff I do agree with, but sometimes I think people talk without understanding things. There's no point of the B15 to JFK if the B55 comes to fruition. Most of the JFK ridership comes from south of the . Maybe what they could look into is having short turn buses that go from JFK to New lots on the / but that's about it. I feel like this is the one proposal that will still like the M125/Bx15 changes (which was in part due to extreme traffic conditions on 3 Av/149 and the two bridges.
  15. I didn't even know there were training school assignments. I just assumed buses got rotated every other month for training purposes
  16. Funny how it's advertised assaulting an employee is punishable by up to 7 years but almost every incident like this one rarely anybody gets caught
  17. So just to be clear, only M66 and M60 are moving? Everything else stays at their depots? I remember hearing of other movements, including the M79/86.
  18. The first part, you may be up to something. Assuming all pre-2011 buses are retired by the end of this year, that's 355 AEBs to be delivered to replace the 2011 units. In my memory, there are the 90 BT&E buses (7000-7089, 8000-8089, 4810-4899) totaling 270 units. That leaves 85 buses to be delivered. This could be possible confirmation of AEBs to WF. 85 buses to replace 88 C40 units. But we shall see.
  19. Other confirmed orders via the finance committee: 355 Standard Battery Electric Buses (BEB) + 90 Artic Battery Electric Buses for NYCT for 445 of 470 electric units (award/delivery no later than 2024) 25 Standard Battery Electric Buses for MTA Bus (BEB) adding 25 to 445 ordered NYCT units (470 total) 5 standard Battery Electric Buses BT&E (see LFSe+ above) 45+15 Battery Electric Buses (60 XE40 bus order) 245 NYCT articulated bus order (order expected to be awarded/complete by the end of 2025) 25+25+85 MTA bus order (135 LFS bus order expected to begin soon) Purchase 173 MTA Bus Standard Diesel Buses (NOVA) by the end of 2024 Purchase 116 MTA Bus Standard Diesel Buses (NF) by the end of 2024 Purchase 250 MTA Bus Express Buses by the end of 2026
  20. Notes from today's board meeting: 60 bus order XE40 expected pilot service Beginning spring 2023 5 bus order LFSe+ expected Fall 2023
  21. Express buses is a bit much to add. Discount yes, but express service is not something everyone should be getting on for free.
