  1. Um, is it safe to be riding on QBL trains with all these issues I keep hearing about? At least once for the past 4 weeks there's been some type of mass signal malfunction that basically shut down the whole line.
  2. So are all the production cars coming from Lincoln or from Yonkers?
  3. While I do agree with you that some of them try to help, it's inexcusable that they can find the time to respectfully reply to the kid who always tweets them about the R179's, but rudely calls out a regular commuter who's trying to report a tracking issue.
  4. MTA Twitter doesn't even listen to their customers, they actually had the audacity to call out a fan who was trying to tell them a tracker on a bus was malfunctioning. And I believe we had this discussion before regarding some of the employees having unprofessional attitudes on Twitter a few months back on this fourm.
  5. A full 10 car R62A was transferred to Corona Yard this morning. Are one of the R188's out of service or something?
  6. In a planet where the actually makes good decisions.
  7. So it's on hold pending investigation, which means that bus aint moving from there for the next 5 years.
  8. Going back to the topic of overnight service for a minute; The BxM1/2 overnight service was implemented without any consideration from passengers who actually needed them overnight hours, and badly advertised. What they should have done is run the BxM2 and BxM3 concurrent with each other, that way they weren't wasting money on running the BxM1 (which had zero ridership during overnights). And the badly advertised reason is the case for the rest of the overnight routes to. I know a friend who lived in Far Rockaway (and commuted to Manhattan at 3 AM) and had no idea the QM17 was running overnight-or the fact that it was free.
  9. Yeah, sadly some supervisors have bad moods 100% of the time so if they see a B/O going 1 mile over the speed limit, it's suspension (or termination if on probation) so I can understand why.
  10. Probably because of what happened with the B49 fiasco last week.
  11. The does have scheduled trips to New Lots Av. The trips to Utica Av continue Not In Service to New Lots Av and stay there for the PM rush, so frankly its actually better.
  12. The way how they're doing this service change is completely stupid IMO. It should be: ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS Mon to Fri, 7:20 AM to 8:50 AM, Jun 21 - Oct 29 (except Jul 5 & Sep 6) Some downtown trains will begin at Dyre Av instead of 241st St. Two trips will operate normally between East 180th St & Chambers St, and via the local line to Rector St, the last stop. Three trips will operate normally between East 180th St & Franklin Av, and via the to Utica Av, the last stop. See how easy that was and no confusion? Why are we going call trains operating along the majority on the 7th Av Line a when it's suppose to be a ?
  13. Take the personal feelings out of it. I'm looking at it from an operational standpoint, the has functioned just fine with the R46's for the past 20 years, it can do it again for the next two years. The R211's are a brand new fleet and should be the sole provider for the . The R179's are still an R160-generation fleet and can be mixed in the fleet with the R160's.
  14. Actually I could see why they didn't go with that, as at some stations of ours, the track is titled so the door can hit the platform and cause damage.
  15. Are the 14 XE60's lease buses are does NYCTA own them outright? I'm intrigued as to why they ordered 14 of them to keep if the electric bus lease program hasn't finished yet.
  16. I kinda have to disagree with you. The runs just fine with the R160's, and if anything half of the base order should go to the and , which have an even higher amount of ridership. You haven't seen Astoria during rush hours, pre-pandemic, it's a mad house. And honestly, the is the worst when it comes to operational efficiency. They still haven't figured out what they're gonna do with the after they f**ked up the R179 order by switching the amount of cars between the 4 and 5 car sets. If they're smart, they would take each B car from a 4 car set and insert it into another to make them 5 cars (like the R188's). The smart thing would have been to send the 10 car R179's to Coney Island and send some of the R46's to Pitkin/207th St, that way the is fully next-gen when the entire R211 order comes in and Astoria & Brighton riders can stop complaining about the R46's. I can see why they made the windows shorter in order to accommodate the larger door housings, but I agree with your standing. With today's technology they could've at least made an effort to keep the window size.
  17. Why Rector St? They do know South Ferry Loop is closed right?
  18. I am seriously not a fan of those side windows...
  19. Articulated buses are also banned from the shuttle after a driver got stuck making the turn near Atlantic Av on the , so 40 foot buses all the time.
  20. Can't we submit a FOIL request for the video from 1020?
  21. That's IF they tuned how long the yellow lights stay on. I know for a fact there are certain lights they don't change so that they can catch people with red light cameras and force them to pay a fine.
  22. The damage is in the frame its self. Either they'll send it back to New Flyer and get a new 7647, or they'll try to fix the original. Unless I'm mistaken, didn't 1020 get sent back to New Flyer already?
  23. 7647 has significant front end damage, most likely retired.
