  1. I'm waiting for the daily news to come out with another story about how the MTA is using their "old smelly Diesel buses" (0010) to do metrocard sales lmao.
  2. While on the topic of the M60, are there unscheduled extra short turn trips that we don't know about? For the past month or so I always see an M60 signed up to 2 Av or 31st St while driving home from work.
  3. That'd be a waste IMO. Unless you expect LIRR to re-convert the entire RBB back to Railroad specifications, it's a waste of money.
  4. The price was inflated because they were trying to build a new elevated structure over the existing ROW instead of just using the ROW. and the city can use "eminent domain" I think it's called to take back any part of the ROW that was illegally obtained by homeowners and businesses. The only issue is whats going to serve the new line. You can't use the or because one will have to reduce TPH in order to allow the other to increase, which also affects the and .
  5. It's the same thing in the rail division when it comes to Public Info Systems. Stuff stays broken for at least half a year before it's actually fixed. Albany needs to tell to create a new department SOLELY for Public Info Systems for both rail and bus. Watch how fast all these issues get fixed.
  6. What was the outcome? Did they ever change the rules, or did you ever try to do the QM22 again?
  7. The issue other then ridership is the corruption in the city politics, particularly DOT. They flat out refuse to give ANYONE authorization to run in the city, or make it extremely difficult to do so. There are so many other agencies that would be happy to contract out work, so why is the city so hell-bent on having everything be run by ? They say it was to Lower the subsides, but at what cost?? They absolutely ruined all the express lines they got. The Riverdale lines lost a ton of ridership after MTA got them simply because MTA dosent know and dosent care enough to run it properly. Then you got them sending cease and decist letters to private carries who want to save some of the lines they eliminated. It's ridiculous.
  8. What is with the city making it EXTREMELY difficult for ANY new charter company to try and do business in this city? I just had another close friend give up on running a bus in the city and moved his operations to Connecticut, where DOT there actually WANTS to contract out routes to private bus companies. Clearly the doesn't want to run the service, so why not let others do it? @Via Garibaldi 8 And @JAzumah I read about what happened with the QM22 just now, the city really tried to play you dirty. Please tell me you at least sued them.
  9. A number of things from the R211 mockup that we saw at 34th St are different then the actual thing. For one, none of the signs are LCD like they showed on the mockup. Whats with the reduced seating capacity? They changed the ADA spots from near the cabs to the middle of the car. Are these floor arrows really necessary? Again, the side windows. They could've come up with a better design. At this point they're gonna be like Apple removing the headphone jack from the iPhone... Are the LCD AD screens really necessary? SIR: While the design for the R211T hasn't come out yet, have they actually looked at some of the platform gaps on the railroad?
  10. Yes, but how do you know there's an accident if you don't see it? I know some of those streets in Metropolitan Av have no street lights.
  11. So there was a horrible sad story yesterday about how a woman was killed yesterday in Queens, a sedan hit her and it knocked her into a passing bus. The first driver fled the scene and so did the driver, but I don't think the MTA driver even knows what happened. Would this MTA driver be charged in a hit and run, even though they weren't the ones that caused it?
  12. Yes sadly. The county recently exercised the option order for 265 XDE40 buses.
  13. So uh...theres an XD40 melting? in a street in the city...
  14. The problem is, has a habit of doing the stupidest thing possible when it comes to designations. They even tell crews that if they sign their train up anything other then the route it's suppose to be on, they'll get a write up. Which makes no sense, because would you rather have a R160 at 9th Av, or an R160 saying via BROADWAY/WEST END and trying to figure out what the hell it means and delaying other passengers who are trying to understand what train this is.
  15. The is split between ENY and Jamaica apparently. Storage & light work is done at Jamaica on the weekdays, with storage & heavy duty work at ENY on weekends.
  16. 4497 has a new Lower front bulkhead and it's not even painted
  17. Well yes, but the extent of the situation most likely will have it at Eastchester for a while.
  18. Someone smacked me in the head with a stroller on the SIM4c and had the nerve to say my head was in the way 🤣🤣🤣 This is why I drive everywhere.
  19. Can't really do that with all these activists trying to get every cop fired who try to enforce the fare.
  20. So these M8's will potentially run along the entire NEC? Wow!
  21. Can someone provide insight as to why keeps wasting money on these "test LED" sets on the R68/R68A series?
  22. Yes, station agents should become portable platform controllers. Why is the state paying them close to $30/hr (I'm guessing the wage) to just sit in a booth watch TV and give us an attitude just to do their job?
