  1. Sadly that's what happens when you give people the mentality. I feel bad for any bus driver that has to operate a bus next to a bike lane, they simply do not care about the rules of the road. I had a bike on the M101 cut across 5 lanes of traffic and almost caused a massive Collison, and they simply do not care. There was also a bike that crashed into a group of people in Times Square last year, but was that person ever charged for reckless endangerment? Not at all. And the city want's to install that bike lane on the bridge because then it'll cause a major traffic jam and force drivers to use the Battery Tunnel. It's all a game to them so they get more money from tolls.
  2. You can also add bikes to this nonsense. I understand that more people are wanting to bike and whatnot, but adding bike lanes to streets that are ALREADY overcrowded and a traffic nightmare is seriously not needed, like why are adding a bike lane to the Brooklyn Bridge out of all places?? Also, most bikes don't even USE the bike lane and disregard all rules of the road, going through red lights, etc etc but when there's an accident, everyone blames it on the person who was driving the car.
  3. It could be possible the interlock malfunctioned. You do seem him trying to steer out of dangers way and even looks down at the pedals in horror tryin to figure out why the bus isnt stopping. If it was a malfunction, thats the second Xcelsior model to randomly accelerate this year (with 1020 being the first).
  4. A video on 7647's accident was leaked online. It shows the bus lunging forward, crashing into a forklift, then crashing into it again, then the operator swerves out of the way (I think you can see him trying to slam on the brake pedal), crashes into a parked truck and into the building. Unless he was pressing the gas which makes no sense, it could be possible the gas pedal got stuck and he was trying to brake. https://www.facebook.com/markiepierre/videos/10223420308469372/
  5. So I took a ride on the B49 yesterday, and 7647 is STILL in the building. Are they gonna leave it there or something??
  6. Does anyone remember how many times 3010-3014 were shipped back and forth between and Bombardier?
  7. Transfer announcements? What transfer announcements?
  8. That R142 was there cause it had an issue. IIRC, there was a signal problem at 96th St and I guess they layed it up.
  9. The half cabs are the issue, but there's also the issue of how they're going to run full service when they don't have enough cars. Back before the whole pandemic and modified plan even happened, the R32's or some of the R46's were suppose to go to the to keep the mileage down, which would've bumped the R68's to CI with more cars. Another issue is the and the . The R46's are operating 24/7 on three heavily demanding lines (including the ). They try to keep the R160's on Astoria and have the be full R46 but it never seems to work out the way they want.
  10. This is the same agency that would rather keep the R32's out of service instead of being smart and increasing the spare factor. If enough people actually complain and realize that MTA has trains that they aren't running, they'd put them in service in a heartbeat.
  11. Probably the worst decision they made with changing the name. What was wrong with Lower East Side??
  12. With the amount of times a work train has gotten stuck on the bridge, you'd think they stop sending them on the freaking bridge...
  13. Bx99 to be discontinued on June 10th, 2021.
  14. I admire your optimism. What buse(s) did you use for the 122 and 144 routes and what happened to them?
  15. Isn't the rule that if you leave, transit doesn't have to give you your job back? Or is that only if your out on disability?
  16. What line is fully OPTO other then the Shuttles?
  17. I guess it just depends on who your supervisor is.
  18. If you leave during probation there's a 99% chance you will never come back. I know someone who worked a transit job for 5 months and quit due to a medical reason, and they basically told him "yeah, no...". Good luck.
  19. So why exactly was the B23 discontinued and why hasn't it been brought back? I see a lot of NYC folk requesting that it been brought back someway with a slightly different routing.
  20. The Bx6-SBS via Story Av reads as "Bx6| SOUNDVIEW". Not sure why it's set as Soundview when Soundview is technically down where the Bx36 ends.
