  1. I've thought about having Hempstead trains run local to Croton-Harmon. (Perhaps something could be worked out so Oyster Bay can provide express service at leas as far as Peekskill, assuming that it remains in the network.) Of course, the legal entities would need to get along. PSA also leaves the Harlem Line holding the short end of the stick, as it doesn't have any track connections for service to/from Penn Station. One of the other potential issues with through-running is that NJT seems to have no interest in having respectable high-level platforms across the system, which means that the M8s would have limited options, anyway.
  2. Any issues with gaps in service on Allerton Avenue will only be exacerbated with the current service split. The problem with the Bx25 is that it's literally half of the pre-redesign Bx26's trips rerouted in Co-op City, rather than a doubling of pre-redesign service levels. That statement about the Bx30 is anything but unexpected, given that the old Bx7's terminus was effectively in the middle of nowhere, whereas buses running to Fordham would actually help people get around. So long as that holds, I see no reason for Liberty Lines to treat Boston Road in the same manner as Jerome Avenue.
  3. There's a reason why the old Bx6 was combined with the old Bx7, after all. Perhaps this wouldn't be an issue if the MTA at least tried to run the damn thing to Fordham (hell, just touching Third Avenue would be a massive improvement on the old Bx7), but as it is, they're massively overserving Boston Road on weekdays.
  4. Couldn't you say the same about the blues (and the purple, for that matter)?
  5. If there's one change I would've kept, it's the straightened Bx28 between Bedford Park and Norwood, and if people insisted that Mosholu Parkway be covered, then the Bx38 would be extended to serve Lehman College. As for the express routes, well, I'd still prefer a Bronxwood Avenue express route to a White Plains Road express route, though Laconia Avenue would likely be even better for coverage. At the very least, I'd consider having an express route east of White Plains Road irrespective of the current BxM11. (As for the general frequencies that were proposed and subsequently withdrawn, well, it goes without saying that the alternatives to the express routes would need to be really good.)
  6. To me, that seems more like an issue of color-blindness.
  7. Did you check the exterior dimensions?
  8. The loading gauge would still cause conflicts.
  9. In hindsight, I probably should've highlighted less of that part...
  10. Am I the only one finding it damn near impossible to do that (to say nothing of seeing existing comments)?
  11. Okay, what's up with 41-059? I may not know French, but that looks like an error code.
  12. While that may be true, I'm of the opinion that Times Square is a stub.
  13. Why stop there? Feed it into Grand Central and you can provide one-seat rides between Flushing and Downtown Brooklyn.
  14. The Bronx doesn't lend itself too well to much more than that.
  15. Aside from no one knowing about it? If you're talking about people strictly on this site, think about where you are. If you're talking about any sort of wider scale, well, events like this are expected to impact traffic.
  16. You sure you're not looking at the "Projects" section?
  17. Why not restore the Springfield Gardens station?
  18. It's all security theater. You can expect loads of tax dollars being sunk into another TSA, all for a long string of false positives, racial profiling, and general ineffectiveness. Hard pass.
  19. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Do you have any?
  20. At this point, wheelchairs are fairly easy to deal with on the local fleet. I'm more concerned about the express fleet, as it appears to be more convoluted than even the RTS in nature. That's one reason why I wish the MTA went for the D45 CRT LE instead of the X3-45, as the low-entry portion makes boarding and alighting at least somewhat easier, though I'd still prefer using the transit platforms for the greater accessibility, among other things. As for the bikes, well, I'd greatly expand the presence of bike racks and make a greater push for folding bikes within the metropolitan area (admittedly, they're heavy, but they can take up far less space).
  21. And the county doesn't? Again, if Nassau is unwilling (as opposed to unable) to pay for its own bus service, why should the contractor provide service, and why should the State pay instead?
