  1. i sent the app in this week....so I'm hoping I hear something soon. the hard part is gonna be getting PP to let me take a leave of absence in the summer. Talking w/Master Khem I've pretty much decided that if I get in that I will try for Oradell and if not then Wayne or Howell. I was talking to a Howell guy and he said it would be less than a year to full time there but the people on the 139 like to complain and that torpedoes some of P/Ts. I'll let you know when I hear back from them

  3. Just a quick couple questions about Oradell.

     

    Do you guys mostly work splits or "straight-8s"?

     

    Are the runs interlined with you running a couple different lines in one day or all day on one line?

     

    How are they with the P/Ts...do they usually work them to the 30 hr limit or not so much.

     

    Sorry for the questions, I'm just trying to get a couple things straight!

  4. Again thanks for the info. I've kinda made up my mind that I'm gonna go for it....the worse the could say is no. More than likely I will try to get Oradell. In the meantime if you see a Peter Pan bus during the PM rush @ the Lincoln Tunnel with "RED SOX" signed up, that's me. I do that to aggravate the Port Authority cops!

    The B/O I ride back to NY on the 129 said the same thing, to stay away from the Meadowlands. I'm would like to try for Oradell or Wayne....I've heard questionable things about Howell. I'm gonna send in my application and see what they say to me.

  6. Thanks for the info. Do you know how long it's been taking folks to get F/T?....Oradell is one of my top choices to go too, I've heard that's a good garage to work out of!

    I am putting in a application for NJT P/T B/O. I was just wondering how that whole deal works. I'm trying to get into the Meadowlands, Wayne,Howell or Oradell. Do the P/Ts have a set run or all they all over the place. Also any idea how long it takes until they move up to F/T....30 hours a week is kinda low,paywise. Any info you can pass along would be great!

    I'm gonna put in the app and see what they say. I'm kinda worried about the P/T part....30 hours a week seems kinda low to me, paywise. Plus after riding home on the 129 with the Meadowlands guys I don't know if I can do that whole cash fare/fare zone thing. But I'll see what they say.

  13. Hey, I saw that you work in Yonkers. You don't drive 3382 do you? Whoever does was my running partner down 5th av awhile ago when I had a NYC run. But then again all you Yonkers guys can move so I give my props to you!

  16. Correct....1975-1977 they had 747-100s, DC-10s and L-1011 all in service. The 747 and DC-10s were hedges incase Lockheed could not deliver more 1011s because they were very close to bankruptcy. Your Up!

  19. Yeah they got rid of the DC-9-30/40 fleet. The DC-9-50 fleet will still be around for a couple more years. The second hand MD-90s were to partially replace the older 9s and the CRJ-200s. Now back to our regularly scheduled game!
  20. Delta is not selling off the MD-90s, they have actually been buying up second hand models lately. They are VERY happy with that aircraft.
