The Real Posted January 9, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2010 OK, new conflicting reports. #4631-4655 are now floaters and there is 3 possible depots they may pop up at. LGA, UP or JFK. So we'll see in the coming week where 4631 pops up at. Keep your eyes peeled in these three depots.
Grand Concourse Posted January 9, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2010 Ulmer? That's going to be really interesting if they get NGs. I'll keep my eyes out for them [mainly the B6 and b3].
Kingsbridge Bus Posted January 9, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2010 I highly doubt that LGA would get a third order of NG's. LGA is fine the way it is even though the ex-bee-lines are not. JFK is most likely to get it. idk about Ulmer Park
Infamous85 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2010 I hope its UP, its fellow RTS-Country depot JAM got em so why not. Personally I don't see why JFK will need them. Thanks for the info.
S78 via Hylan Posted January 9, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 9, 2010 From what I hear, JFK is supposed to get them, but I also hope that UP gets them instead.
Grand Concourse Posted January 9, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 9, 2010 I hope its UP, its fellow RTS-Country depot JAM got em so why not. Personally I don't see why JFK will need them. Thanks for the info. I wouldn't be surprised if it is JFK though since they want to make the ex-GBL depots more enviromently friendly. Plus I don't know how much longer some of those O5s have. Some of them probably could be retired.
R32 3348 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 9, 2010 JFK only has 12-14 buses that need to be retired so some buses could be displaced there if needed. It would make sense if UP got them but 25 is a pretty small allotment...it's better than nothing though. BTW Trevor, this thread is better off in the Orion 7 NG thread... Robert Bosco Posted January 9, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 9, 2010 I doubt that UP will get them...but it would be sweet!!!
Noflexdont Posted January 9, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 9, 2010 when doing pull ups in fresh pond Depot. I was told that FP would be getting 50 or so NG's
aemoreira81 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 9, 2010 I would be surprised if it is Ulmer Park; if it was that garage, they would already have had an O7 NG from Flatbush or Grand Avenue for training. I suspect that it will end up being JFK Depot. If it's 1-for-1, JFK could retire all pre-1997 buses AND send about 10 O5s to Far Rockaway (or 10 O7 first generation units) to FR to retire the TMCs there. This should finish TMCs at MTA Bus...and if not, then when CAS gets its final batch after this 4631-4655 batch, that should finish all of the TMCs from the MTA roster. The Real Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #11 Posted January 9, 2010 Well thats the whole thing, UP had a NG from FLA and JAM about a week and a half ago...
Kingsbridge Bus Posted January 9, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 9, 2010 If Ulmer Park gets Ng's where will the RTS buses that are taken out go to?
Qns Blvd Dom Posted January 9, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 9, 2010 This is interesting! I would be surprised too if UP get's it considering how their union rep @ that depot can be! The buses that I can see going out is most likely the RTS's with the ZF's to somewhere else!
Cait Sith Posted January 9, 2010 Share #14 Posted January 9, 2010 Ulmer? That's going to be really interesting if they get NGs. I'll keep my eyes out for them [mainly the B6 and b3]. Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if it is JFK though since they want to make the ex-GBL depots more enviromently friendly. Plus I don't know how much longer some of those O5s have. Some of them probably could be retired. That would be a travesty if JFK got those NGs. From the way things have been, its like JFK & LGA are battling out for the title of "Worst Depot In MTA Bus"
Grand Concourse Posted January 9, 2010 Share #15 Posted January 9, 2010 JFK is that bad or is LGA getting that much better? lol. But i didn't think JFK was that bad. But I would've liked it if Far Rock got newer buses over JFK though.
petabread Posted January 9, 2010 Share #16 Posted January 9, 2010 JFK isn't bad but when it comes to appearance they don't care what the bus looks like. I would like to see a break down of MDBF and MDBSI for all bus depots in NYC.

trainspot12 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 9, 2010 4631-4655 is for MTA Bus (meaning unless they change their minds at the last second, Ulmer Park is not getting these buses). It's a toss up between JFK and LaGuardia (but in the end it may go to JFK). We'll see very shortly where they're going.
The Real Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #19 Posted January 9, 2010 Like state above, two NGs were at UP about a week ago testing for fitting in the Wash and Maintenance Areas. So there is a consideration for these buses to go to UP. So like I said in the OP, its a toss up between the three, remember this order has had its assignment change 2 times already. So anything is possible.
petabread Posted January 9, 2010 Share #20 Posted January 9, 2010 Yeah but 105 are designated for MTA Bus, so... Unless UP has secrectly switched brands...
The Real Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted January 9, 2010 Yeah but 105 are designated for MTA Bus, so... Unless UP has secrectly switched brands... That doesn't mean anything, MTA changes their mines like we change our underwear. Remember how many times they changed the R160 assignments? Remember how one batch of NGs was suppose to go to TA garage but ended up at LGA (LGA's first batch of NGs). Remember Spring Creeks batch got reassigned TO JFK (So JFK has its allotment already). And with the changing of the assignment of the LFSAs (35 to GH, 55 to 126th, and now that's being changed (keep in mind MTAB is slated for Artics)). So again, we'll keep watch, but I was told by a VERY reliable source that 4631-4655 MAY ended up at UP depending on how those two test buses did when they went over there. So all I ask is that people keep their eyes peeled at the three facilities to see where 4631 shows up at.
Grand Concourse Posted January 9, 2010 Share #22 Posted January 9, 2010 And of course the ex-Bee Line buses that were supposed to have gone to JFK and Far Rock, but instead went to LGA and BP. Trying to keep track of these moves can make anyone crazy. My props to ya for keeping on top of these moves.
Luis1985 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #23 Posted January 9, 2010 my opinion, just wait until these buses appear when they actually appear. wheather its JFK, Ulmer Park, LGA, Baisley Park or wherever, we really cant say where those NG's are going to be until we actually see it happen. The does random changes at random times, so we just gonna have to wait and see.
