SubwayGuy Posted August 28, 2010 Share #26 Posted August 28, 2010 The BMT is on the bottom because it is a second rate subway line... "Barely Moving Trains"
Roadcruiser1 Posted August 28, 2010 Share #27 Posted August 28, 2010 Really so the IRT must be the Interborough Rattled Transit. Plus the IND must be the typical Idiotic No-brainer Douchebag. And the MTA must be the Money Trolling Authority.

SubwayGuy Posted August 28, 2010 Share #29 Posted August 28, 2010 The only other two I've heard for NY are MTA = Making Transportation Awful and NYCTA (for RTO employees who have train troubles) = No You Can't Touch Anything

m7zanr160s Posted August 29, 2010 Share #31 Posted August 29, 2010 Or perhaps the original planning was for the 'E' to surface further out and utilize one of the LIRR lightly used branches for its extension? I really want that to happen. Having the train deeper in Queens would be perfect.
EE Broadway Local Posted September 5, 2010 Share #32 Posted September 5, 2010 I really want that to happen. Having the train deeper in Queens would be perfect. It would also be nice if the could be extended further out on Liberty beyond Lefferts Boulevard.
CenSin Posted September 5, 2010 Share #33 Posted September 5, 2010 It would also be nice if the could be extended further out on Liberty beyond Lefferts Boulevard. The is long enough already. If anything, it should be shaved back and some other line should take its place.

It's the Lefferts branch though. It has to be at least 5 miles shorter than the Rockaway branches.
Roadcruiser1 Posted September 6, 2010 Share #35 Posted September 6, 2010 Why don't they extend the to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and leave the on the Rockaways.
R160 Posted September 6, 2010 Share #36 Posted September 6, 2010 Why don't they extend the to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and leave the on the Rockaways. If you do that, you'll hear more complaining than you thought humanly possible.

LRG Posted September 6, 2010 Share #38 Posted September 6, 2010 Yes indeed...people went nuts when it was proposed to replace (Mx) with ...just imagine how people will feel if the local would replace their express train in Ozone Park Goes to show you how people are so full of themselves, getting bent over a letter. Those riders need to get a life.
Grand Concourse Posted September 7, 2010 Share #39 Posted September 7, 2010 Why don't they extend the to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and leave the on the Rockaways. It's been stated a few times in the past that riders will not ride the because it is a local. The very moment the gets to Rockaway Blvd, people will get off to take the making those trains empty and useless till Euclid. As imperfect as the is now, it is better than the and going past Euclid. If anything they should rename the to Lefferts as the or . That's pretty much it. With the sharing the same tunnel, there's not much more service they can add. Although, they could make the trains 600' long, but make the headways longer [which might piss off some riders], but then maybe they could squeeze in some more trains. EE Broadway Local Posted September 7, 2010 Share #40 Posted September 7, 2010 Liberty Avenue riders have the best of both worlds. For short trips on Liberty Avenue the provides local service, and if they want to go to Brooklyn or Manhattan, the becomes express at Euclid Avenue. This is irrelevant to the discussion. 2. The picture is linked wrong. 3. There is nothing to explain, as that was the way service used to operate. Ceya Posted September 9, 2010 Share #46 Posted September 9, 2010 It is true that when the "J" was torn down Jamaica Ave lost alot. There was Macy, Mays, Gimbels, R S Strauss and a whole lot of stores. You could not hear yourself talk when the train pulled in. after it was torn down in 1977 , all buses and people filled up Hillside ave and the E, F trains were overloaded until 1988. Archer Ave was a wasteland at that time and York College stated it would move to take over the area around Union Hall and Liberty Ave in the late 1979. You can see the doors to the subway on Liberty and near Union Hall. S/F CEYA!
