Why is 'el' below the subway?

If you do that, you'll hear more complaining than you thought humanly possible.

Yes indeed...people went nuts when it was proposed to replace (Mx) with (V)...just imagine how people will feel if the (C) local would replace their express (A) train in Ozone Park

Goes to show you how people are so full of themselves, getting bent over a letter. Those (M) riders need to get a life.

Why don't they extend the (C) to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and leave the (A) on the Rockaways.

It's been stated a few times in the past that riders will not ride the (C) because it is a local. The very moment the (C) gets to Rockaway Blvd, people will get off to take the (A) making those (C) trains empty and useless till Euclid. As imperfect as the (A) is now, it is better than the (A) and (C) going past Euclid. If anything they should rename the (A) to Lefferts as the (H) or (K). That's pretty much it.

With the (A)(C) sharing the same tunnel, there's not much more service they can add. Although, they could make the (C) trains 600' long, but make the headways longer [which might piss off some riders], but then maybe they could squeeze in some more (A) trains.

1. This is irrelevant to the discussion.

2. The picture is linked wrong.

3. There is nothing to explain, as that was the way service used to operate.

It is true that when the "J" was torn down Jamaica Ave lost alot.

There was Macy, Mays, Gimbels, R S Strauss and a whole lot of stores.

You could not hear yourself talk when the train pulled in.

after it was torn down in 1977 , all buses and people filled up Hillside ave and the E, F trains were overloaded until 1988.

Archer Ave was a wasteland at that time and York College stated it would move to take over the area around Union Hall and Liberty Ave in the late 1979.

You can see the doors to the subway on Liberty and near Union Hall.
