IRT Bronx Express Posted October 12, 2011 Share #326 Posted October 12, 2011 I don't know if I mentioned this... I'd revive the Bx54 original route, and extend it to two neighborhoods (split service). After Metropolitan Ave/Purdy St, it would travel to Castle Hill Ave, E. Tremont Ave, and Westchester Av, then: Branch #1 via the former Bx23 path to Ellsworth Av/Schley Ave. (essentially, the Bx8 today) Branch #2 it would continue to Pelham Bay and then head to City Island via the Bx29 path. (I had planned to send it to Country Club, but I changed my mind.. )

Spirit routes from other depots: B62, BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4, BM5, Q60, QM3, X63, X64, X68. Fleet buses use: Local Bus: Hybrid/NG, ex-Bee-Line Bus, Orion V, Orion V CNG, MCI Coach (express buses) I like that idea

LRG Posted October 24, 2011 Share #333 Posted October 24, 2011 Would this work? This is a completely serious idea and could definitely work. New route = Dark green, old route = light green. BxM18/X90 combo WHat did you use to get a blank bus map for the borough?
Mysterious2train Posted October 24, 2011 Share #334 Posted October 24, 2011 He uploaded it in Inkscape and then got rid of all the routes... which I'm still trying to do.

IRT Bronx Express Posted October 26, 2011 Share #348 Posted October 26, 2011 More routes. Bx13 extension to Hunts Point: This route will follow the Bx6, but it travels via Hunts Point Ave, Randall Ave, Tiffany St, Viele Ave, Hallack St, loop around the market, and then continue to Hunts Point Ave towards Manhattan. Bx37: This route travels between The Hub/E. 149 St and Pelham Manor/Ropes Ave via Boston Rd, Allerton Ave, White Plains Rd, E. Tremont Ave, Boston Rd (again, past West Farms), 3 Av to E. 161 St, and Melrose Ave. Bx27/35 combined as the Bx45: Same route, no changes.
Gorgor Posted October 26, 2011 Share #349 Posted October 26, 2011 Oh, just a tip if you're using Inkscape to make fantasy maps: Delete all the subway lines, bullets, and all text except street names or else it can get really laggy after you add enough new routes.
