pjbr40 Posted September 21, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 21, 2011 Thank goodness no one died in this incident. Lucky the roof of the bus was so strong to keep them alive. Sue the building owner, not the bus. MTA should sue that building owner.
aemoreira81 Posted September 21, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 21, 2011 The landlord and the contractor better have some good insurance...thankfully no one got hurt. As for that bus, I expect it to be OOS for a month or two.

Via Garibaldi 8 Posted September 21, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 21, 2011 Sue Who for What? With a good lawyer the case will be dismissed. What do you mean sue who for what? This sort of "accident" is not supposed to happen and there are strict laws in place about scaffolding. I know this because I worked in the construction industry for a few years in my earlier 20s. The whole point of having scaffolding up is to protect folks from any falling debris, etc. while work is being performed on the building or buildings in question, not have it collapse on people. I'm sure folks will be suing whoever is responsible for that scaffolding collapsing and I doubt that the lawyer can get the defenders off on this one, not unless it is something that was out of their control somehow. And those who weren't injured, I'm sure they'll claim duress of some sort.

Something like that would likely mean it would be sent to the scrap than repaired.
mtattrain Posted September 21, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 21, 2011 Pretty funny how this is 1 number higher than the first retired 5600-series D60.

SirJokaPlaya Posted September 25, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 25, 2011 Not sound ignorant to those that were injured, and indeed, thank God no one was seriously injured and/or killed, I'd like to know what type of bus that was and how bad was the damage. That bus did it's job holding up against hundreds of lbs of materials.
