Subway - What If?

Haha, but yeah I don't know what the heck these people are on...

I'll pose a new scenario for you all:

Both the local and express tracks on 6th Avenue are set for the 63rd Street (F) tunnel.  That means ONLY trains coming from 63rd Street may access 6th Avenue, and any train going northbound on 6th Avenue MUST go to 63rd street.

Reroute the (B)(D)(M)

(B): Trains run in 2 sections.

1. Between Bedford Park Blvd, Bronx and World Trade Center (E) Station via (C) line.

2. Between Times Sq-42nd St & Coney Island-Stillwell Av via (Q) line.

(C): Trains run express in both direction between 59th & Canal Sts.

(D): Trains run in 2 sections.

1. Between 205th St & 2nd Av (F) Station via (C) line.

2. Between Whitehall St & Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

(E): Trains run express between 42nd St & Canal Sts in both directions.

(M): Trains rerouted over on (F) line in both direction between 36th and 47th-50th Sts.

(Q): Trains run local via (N) line between Canal & 57th Sts.

The MTA would probably have bigger problems than rerouting trains...

How bout an actual real one - due to a water main break, Atlantic Av/Barclays has been flooded. Reroute trains accordingly.

Since no one ever really took this one:

Single track shuttle trains operate over the Manhattan Bridge in both directions as follows:

On the 6th Avenue Line between Broadway-Lafayette and DeKalb Avenue (stopping at Grand Street)

On the Broadway Line (express level) between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue

(B) runs Bedford Park Boulevard or 145th Street-Chambers Street, operating via the (E) West 4th-Chambers Street.

(D) re-routed via the (C) West 4th-Jay Street Brooklyn, then runs via the (F) to Coney Island, then via regular route to 36th Street-4th Avenue, where it terminates.

(E) skips Spring Street and 23rd street-8th Avenue in both directions (runs on express track).

Select (F) trains run via the (G) from Roosevelt Avenue, Queens-Bergen Street, Brooklyn

(N) and (R) both run via the tunnel to Jay Street-Metrotech.(LIMITED service to DeKalb Avenue).

(R) Shuttle also runs 36th Street-95th Street in Brooklyn.

(Q) runs as a five-car, 300' shuttle between Coney Island and the Botanic Garden (S) station (Prospect Park-bound platform) ONLY.

Franklin Avenue (S) runs as a single, two-car shuttle between Botanic Garden and Franklin Avenue.

Shuttle buses in Brooklyn operate as follows:

Borough Hall to Franklin Avenue IRT/Franklin Avenue shuttle station (stops at both IRT and BMT stations along the Brighton BMT Line).

Court Street-Borough Hall to 36th Street-4th Avenue (follows 4th Avenue line after Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, also stops at Lafayette Avenue (C) station).

(4) and (5) run to Borough Hall ONLY (select (5) trains terminate at Brooklyn Bridge (6) station in Manhattan)!

(2) runs in two sections:

241st Street-Wakfield, Bronx to Rector Street (1) station (local Times Square-Rector Street) in Manhattan

Grand Army Plaza, Eastern Parkway or Franklin Avenue-Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn

(3) runs in two sections:

148th Street-Lenox Terminal to 14th Street in Manhattan

Grand Army Plaza, Eastern Parkway or Franklin Avenue-New Lots Avenue, Brooklyn

It was a slow day at work today lol

Same here at the animal house of a job I work for. It was pretty slow day no major issues....

Until I had that damn workstation that had no damn internet because it was connecting to the wrong proxy server forcing me to stay 4 hours overtime fixing the crap when all I wanted to do is get the hell home to get some food and nookie already from Keiko in a hurry but no it was'nt happening, because I could not fix it via remote desktop and after network diagnostic testing and a hell of alot of reconfiguring of admin permissions for the user profile, loop plug tests, ethernet cabel integrety tests to no avail, pinging servers trying to connect without any glimmer of hope in sight, and of course the damn network administrator  who was on duty had the only key to the server room whole my tech supervisor lost his the dumb idiot! I needed to reconfigure permissions on the *right* DHCP server to aloow the stupid workstation to connect on it you dimwits! He had to come back from his poor little happy hour at the bar all drunk and @#!% to give me the copy of the damn key, to get me in the friggin server room. And all he says is "Uhh gee Mark, that sucks dude that they made you stay like that" Oh STFU and do your job you moron! And I was there since 7AM!  In case ppl was wondering why I made a million posts in one day today while waiting for this fool so I can set up an VPN with 21 laptops with projector station for a finance dept meeting at 9AM today. I'm calling in sick today consider it done you bunch of jerks screw you all, leave me the copy of my new key in my desk with my recommedation letter for being your friggin company slave. Have a nice day I'll be home screwing Keiko all day and posting my usual nonsense on MTA forums it's her day off hahaha and well so I'm taking the day off too, go suck on that idiots and live with it, !$%# this job!

Thanks for listening to my rant. Back on topic, yes, carry on gentlemen. :)

Kendell, your killing the game. -_-

NEXT:

An incident involving a gun in a (D) held in a tunnel between 7 Avenue-53 Street and Rockefeller Center. What do you do?

I'm a bit lost now with order of the scenerios posted (all good guys) so I'll pick up where I left off with yours:

Solution-

1) (E) trains via 6th Ave/63rdStreet to Jamaica Center, Queens Bvld Express (For the sake of the police investigation and protocols in setting up perimeter in the crime zone 7th Ave will have to be shut down).

2) (D) trains run via 8th Ave to 59th Street (As again 7th Ave will have to be closed) then resume normal service via CPW and Grand Concourse to 205th Street. (D) express service on the Grand Concourse suspended, all (D) trains on the Grand Concourse will run local only to 205th.  Anticipate delays. (A) and (C) service is generally unaffected but with anticipated delays at the switches at West 4th Street.

3) (B) train service suspended. (Obviously)

4) (F) and (M) trains skip 47-50th Rockerfeller because of the ongoing police investigation procedures mentioned above. Otherwise normal service into Queens. (F) trains run as Queens Blvd Express to 179th street as usual.

5) ???????

6) PROFIT!

Did I forget anything?

.... Well you do try hard at putting some funny in this so I'll give you credit for this. Keep trying, you'll develop that zany sense of humor we have. You'll learn one day. Humor is a facet of intelligence coined by psychologists. (you do kmow this right?) And no I'm actually serious. Oh yeah the rep button I've hit by accident, so there. Enjoy your free point.

-Fulton express tracks are unusable from Nostrand to Euclid

-36 St (D)(N)(R) is impassable

-Lexington Avenue riders are protesting the (6) receiving the R62As, blocking off the section between Grand Central and Union Square

Enjoy!

(A) trains run in two sections, 207th to Jay-Metro Tech and ENY to Lefferts/JFK via Local

(C) trains run from 168th to Church Ave, via Culver after Jay

(B) trains run from 145th to West 4th

(D) trains run from 205th to West 4th

(N) trains run in two sections, Astoria to Brighton Beach, via Brighton Express and 59th-4th Ave to Coney Island.

(R) trains run in two sections, 71st to Dekalb and a shuttle from 59th-4th to 95th.

(4) trains run from Woodlawn to Grand Central

(5) trains via 7th

(6) trains run from Pelham to Grand Central

Haha, but yeah I don't know what the heck these people are on...

Reroute the (B)(D)(M)

(B) trains run via 8th Ave local from 59th to W4

(D) trains run in two sections, 205th to Canal via 8th Ave Express and W4 to Coney Island, via normal route

(M) trains run via 63rd

I am 12 years old and what is this? BTW I hit the rep button by mistake.

Hopefully you hit the down arrow...

@ Quill: That rep was meant for Metro CSW for tht funny ass post. Which I realized, got him with the rep point for hilariousness on Metro's post just now post. Kendell can keep it. No worries. Original intentions was not to give him a positive ot negative point. I cpould'nt get the joke either. We need to help him to see the need not to post under the influence. Works a million.

* Disregard the way off topic rant my apologies: I am still mad as hell at my boss and the alcholic administrator as of this morning when I took my impromtu personal day this morning. If you was in the position to work like a slave with at the last minute extra hours when you want to get home to your woman would'nt you be  be pissed as hell too? All good. Got an interview for an new information systems technical specialist job on Monday, if I get the job I am quitting the absolute sh!t out this current job. I just needed some Microsoft Access and Blackberry OS experience to add to my resume which was why I took this one, to my regret. Live and learn....,

Hopefully you hit the down arrow...

@ Kendell I try to be non-judgemental (I'm not perfect, I can get WAY off the beam and got called out for it many countless times by my partners here) so take it from me take a breather sit back and see how we post, while holding on to your character. Do your research before you post as GC, peacemak3r, Harry, Kamen, mttatrain and metro said in various other threads and you'll go places here on this site. I understand you're young so just hear me out and you'll be alright. And we can start rankin on someone else in need of some schooling on the art of social media. Real talk. Nuff said! Cool, lets get back on topic.

Thank you for a solvable scenario..

(B): No service between Kings Highway and Brighton Beach.

(F): No service between Avenue X and Coney Island.

(Q): No service between Brighton Beach and Coney Island.

It just occurred to me; this would never work. Both tracks cannot be set to the same way like that. If the express is set to 63rd, then the rail for the local must be set for 53rd, even if the lineup is not established. And vice versa. (They can both be set to go straight, of course).

Can someone ban Kendell from this thread... his posts have been the least productive I've seen in a while.

NEXT: Power outage at Kings Hwy-Brighton, switches just south of the station are affected too.

(B)(Q) No services south of Prospect Park. Shuttle buses provide alternate service to nearby BMT Brighton Line stations between Prospect Park and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

I don't see any other way than this. Good enough. Or use the B49 or B68 buses nearby as secondary options.

NEXT: Switch track malfunction of a Downtown (E) track between 42 Street & 50 Street that effects both local and express tracks. Your Solution?

There's no need to suspend the E. Just run them down 6th av, switch at W4th and end as normal to WTC and probably suspend the M at Essex.

Metro: does the switch affect just the E? Ie: can either A and/or C trains pass thru normally?

Then there is less service to Jamaica. Jamaica riders take the (M) to the (J), instead of the (E).
