2Line1291 Posted May 31, 2009 Share #52 Posted May 31, 2009 I'll give it to R142s cause that just about the only IRT train that I ride on a everyday basis except when i've rode a rare R62A on the . But my top favorite is Redbird R33 MLs.

2 Av Posted May 31, 2009 Share #54 Posted May 31, 2009 My favorite IRT car are the R142 because the interior is great. They look great on the lines. At one point the was using all of the current IRT cars, the R62,R62A,R142,R142A.
MAA89 Posted June 19, 2009 Share #55 Posted June 19, 2009 None. All the IRT cars are too narrow and impossible to get on/off during rush hours. If I had to choose, the R142s (not R142A) would get my vote.
Dj Hammers Posted June 26, 2009 Share #56 Posted June 26, 2009 I gotta say the R62A because it has that classic "subway" feel that the NTTs don't have. Not to mention the fact that the R62A singles are the only IRT cars with RFWs.
r40s 4501 Posted June 30, 2009 Share #57 Posted June 30, 2009 I love the R33's. They have that "classic subway"
cdi919 Posted September 9, 2009 Share #58 Posted September 9, 2009 the 142 bombardier because the cabs have better Ac's than the 142a.
LRG Posted September 9, 2009 Share #59 Posted September 9, 2009 I love the R142As. I'll give it up to them as one of my favorite NTTs, with the first being the R130 (R110A).

INDman Posted September 18, 2009 Share #61 Posted September 18, 2009 Low-Vs and the Redbirds. I was not around to ride the Low-Vs, but I have operated one many times and BERA and I love it, well as much as Ican love an IRT car.

That's because you just close your eyes and pretend its an Arnine Lo-V is a lot of fun...someday I would like to get the Hi-V running though. That would be a challenge (AMRE braking schedule and a new valve to learn to control), as well as a new deadman and manual acceleration...it's a CONTROLLER not a MASTER CONTROLLER heh... SMEE is still fun and I always enjoy my "handle time", much easier to learn...have to admit it was funny working the Trip on 6/20 and thinking to myself "gee I've run all these trains before :p"

That would be awesome to see run down the line.
