B35 via Church Posted March 7, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2012 The last sim city I played was sim city 2000.... I used to play it for countless hrs back in the 90's... when I lost all my created cities when my laptop died, I stopped playing sim city...... this upcoming version looks sick though.... peacemak3r Posted March 7, 2012 Share #4 Posted March 7, 2012 Countless hours on Sim City, can't wait for this! I really wished they remade a Sim Tower though, I used to love that game when I was a kid.
67thAve Posted March 7, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 7, 2012 I still have Sim City 4. I LOVE THAT GAME TO DEATH. Societies was a big dissapointment, though. I hope Sim City 5 is designed similar (no pun intended) to Sim City 4, but with improvements, obioiusly.
Tokkemon Posted March 7, 2012 Share #6 Posted March 7, 2012 YES! I have to say, SimCity was probably my favorite game in history that wasn't on a console. I do hope they throw out the Societies gameplay concepts and go back to basics. SimCity 3000 was probably the best out of them all, but 4 was very good too. I'd like to see more of that with enhanced richness and control, but not necessarily micromanagement.
7LineFan Posted March 7, 2012 Share #7 Posted March 7, 2012 4 was very difficult for me... too much regional micromanagement. Still loved it though. 3000 was more relaxed. Looking forward to the new game.

Roadcruiser1 Posted March 8, 2012 Share #9 Posted March 8, 2012 I see that they took some things from LinCity NG and SimCity Societies. It's pretty interesting.

mark1447 Posted March 9, 2012 Share #11 Posted March 9, 2012 The Best part is MAXIS is back on the table!! Witness early footage of SimCity 5 for yourself | GameZone The last developer really sucked at SimCity Societies. Getting rid of U-Drive it mode, and more. Hope these ill come back. Some more: simcity.com' (BTW this is technically Simcity 6, the 5 is pretty much Societies)
67thAve Posted March 9, 2012 Share #12 Posted March 9, 2012 But because since most people agree that Societies was as fun as being forced to watch Jane Fonda videos nonstop for 98 days, people want to make it feel like it never existed.
Tokkemon Posted March 10, 2012 Share #13 Posted March 10, 2012 Societies wasn't made by Maxis, so it doesn't count in the numbering. And yes, it is better to pretend it didn't exist, like Windows Me.
NYCtrainfan01 Posted March 10, 2012 Share #14 Posted March 10, 2012 I agree about societies. It was no where near as great as SimCity 4. This new SimCity looks really good!
