Cait Sith Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1078 Posted September 17, 2012 True Ill wait and see. You know whats agitating, this entire thread, you were all "NO ITS NOT WAIT AND SEE" and now you wanna wait and see? To anyone that is viewing this thread, this is a prime example of a set of teeth being completely flip-flopped...... If only you had stopped saying "NO ITS NOT WAIT AND SEE" and insulting people in your posts, none of this would've occurred....

Donald Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1081 Posted September 17, 2012 It's common knowledge that the and will be swapping cars. I can't believe people are arguing about this. The is the only line that has 100% R142As, hence why they chose the to swap with.
Far Rock Depot Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1082 Posted September 17, 2012 see, even the MTA doesn't know exactly where the 62s are coming from. And there's also whole new 188 sets in the order. To cover the flushing line. The 62s will be sent to the Lex. Which Lex line depends on the MTA.
Donald Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1083 Posted September 17, 2012 The 62s will be sent to the . They can't get sent to the because that line regularly swaps trains with the at Flatbush. And they can't get sent to the because that line has both 142s and 142As. And the last thing they want is to have a line with both 62s and 142s.
Far Rock Depot Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1084 Posted September 17, 2012 Donald, what about the 1? Remember, Bombardier got the bulk of the R62 order (A's). Kawasaki built what, 325 r62 cars? and some of those cars on he one are currently running on flushing. I believe we are going to see a full car shuffle. And that's really all we need to know.

Why would the lines R62As go somewhere they are just on flushing because the lines R62As are getting sms wont the get its R62As back when the lines cars are done?
Donald Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1086 Posted September 17, 2012 So they are going to switch the 62s on the with the 62s on the ? Does that make sense to you?
Far Rock Depot Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1087 Posted September 17, 2012 "the last thing they want is a line with both 62s and 142" Really? I kinda find that hard to beleive unless you've never rides the b division. Which has lines that run both Ott and NTT trains.

The and but that is because R42s didn't retire in flushings case nothing is retiring the R62A will just go back to the ,who knows what the MTA's plan is on this one we'll wait and see. Donald Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1089 Posted September 17, 2012 They better hurry up and put the 's 62s back on the because the T/Os on the don't like operating on the 62s assigned to the and that's what they've been using as replacements.

Why dont they like using R62s from the ? Its the same car but with a few differences
Donald Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1091 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) They always try to keep each line limited to one car type. They only use multiple car types as a last resort. It makes maintenance easier this way. Because T/Os don't like the brakes on the 's 62s. Lots of T/O's deliberately avoid picking on the because of this. Grand Concourse Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1093 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) To people here: It's R62 and R62A's. People don't know what you mean when you refer to everything as just R62s. As for keeping the as is, it's possible nothing changes, but no one said the R62As are going to just one line. This is the only speculation I'll do: Hypothetically, (because the runs more trains than the and there would still be some R142A's left) they could take the R142A/S from the and give them to the and split the R62As. It's not like one line has to be all NTT. Therefore, you still keep the and at most 2 major train types. That said: Folks need to calm the hell down. It's just a damn train. If it takes you to point b and has decent climate control, then why get all uptight about it. Jeez... The is the only line that has 100% R142As, hence why they chose the to swap with. All It matters is until they are sent back to the IRT Lexington Avenue Line and when the becomes 100% R188s. Last time I checked, New York City Transit only said the R62As currently operating on the will very, very end up on the East Side IRT again. That's all I'm gonna say.... Grand Concourse Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1097 Posted September 17, 2012 smh, it's sad people are still arguing about this. It's a sunny day out. Go outside and play. Do something more productive than bitching over something that hasn't even happened yet. Plus last I looked, the MtA owned the cars, not individuals like us.
RollOver Posted September 17, 2012 Share #1098 Posted September 17, 2012 A new topic for this thread: I am looking forward to seeing the FINDs for the first time on the A Division's NTTs (R188s = converted R142As). Don't get me wrong, I love the strip maps on the regular R142/142As..

Though I don't know why with that / Bronx swap during the regular general orders as well as during the Fastrack night program...
