Did you just walk in and asked to be scheduled an appointment? I got this one paper that states I need to email them back once I get my results

Email them that email so they can say they got it! I walked in & asked to be scheduled for an appointment. Make sure you let them know you got clearance from your doctor and you’re just waiting on them.. respectfully of course

Did they put you on medical hold also? If so how long ago? I have a sleep study coming this Saturday. Hoping everything turns out well.

They put me on medical hold the 4th I got an at home sleep apnea test done and got inducted in on the 16th! Don’t give up just fight for yourself, you didn’t come this far just to come this far!

Never mind I just went back and saw your recent post. You scored an 8 on your sleep study.

just about the appointment thing, did you just randomly walk in and set up an appointment or when you walked in they took you right there and than?

When I got there I went to medical side they asked what I was there for I told them they said I needed an appointment and to go to the HR side to make one! If I was you I’d just go straight to window 3 & ask to make and appointment. State you emailed them and haven’t received a response

I was suppose to get a test done tomorrow, but I need to pay over $600 for the sleep study. So that’s going to push me back a few weeks so I can get my chips together. Where did u get your at home sleep study from?

so once I get my sleep study done and my results, I should email them. Than just walk in and ask to be set up an appointment?

Go online to a site called blue sleep. I received the finger machine in 2 days and had my appointment the day after I slept with with it! Can have your medical cleared within a week or 2

I just saw the website, awesome. Once you did the test did you speak to the doctors at blue sleep? Or you went to your primary doctor?

Everything is with the doctor at blue sleep. It’s all telehealth so you don’t have to leave your house for anything

How was school car today for everyone that started today?

Day 1:for Conductors

finished Day 1 we was downtown Brooklyn and overall it was a pretty slow day, was basically a huge Q and A about the job, what to expect, some review on safety components, pension and benefits .There were like 90+ conductors there and some other positions also.Tomorrow we meet with the union people.so I’ll update tomorrow

For anybody that’s in school car that started on Monday, ask one of the TSS’s if there will be more classes coming up, thanks in advance

Any update? On if they’re having another class?

Someone said another class should start in 2 months

So I just found out that my cousin who was on W/c for 2 years was on an injury was cleared in October to start working again for C/R, she waited for the classes since October, she went yesterday to 180 and they told her she’ll be in the upcoming class in February, so yes there is an upcoming class

Even earlier than expected! That’s good for y’all!

They are expecting a large exodus of manpower in the not too distant future. 20 years ago they supposedly went on a hiring spree, and a lot of employees are approaching the point where they can retire. They needed that next test to have already been given and graded by this point, not delayed.

I am going to warn you now, some of you who are still hoping to be hired, they may stick you someplace you don’t want to be. I was lucky, I went from normal extra extra to Extra List without much of an issue. You might not be so lucky.

be prepared to find yourself as a flagger, for example.

they can and will draft people based on the needs of the system. Even on higher ranks. Some TSSs are drafted into being School Car Instructors, for example.

the class coming up will be for promotional employees cause 6601 will closed on 2.14

That list hasn't been established yet. So I doubt theyll close out before they even established a list for promotional. In October I was informed by the exam unit that the letters with list numbers for C/R promotional will be sent out in 6 to 8 months. So 6 to 8 months from October would likely be April - June. Unless they sped up the process after October, I doubt any promotionals will be called b4 the spring.

People can and have been called in provisionally and since they are promotional they don't really have anything to lose aside from seniority in their old title.

Anyway, from what I have heard, they look to continue hiring train operators and conductors throughout the first half of the year especially with the likelihood of having a ton of conductors trying to get promoted to train operators in the near future. So who knows what they'll do to keep those classes full.

For us that has been put on medical hold. Once we clear it. Is there a chance for us still? I was put on medical hold on Jan 12. SMH
