4P3607 Posted January 3, 2011 Share #51 Posted January 3, 2011 Just don't do it. Make a good project, and make it super cheap. Also an crew would find your route a nightmare. They might have to do a 6 hour work shift. They won't really get paid much for it. oh god you are right; I will redo this but this time have a shuttle going across the bronx and back and then the (12) starting at Harlem Water Drive Thingy (kind of forgot first stop in manhattan name). That will cut out alot of stations.

Roadcruiser1 Posted January 3, 2011 Share #53 Posted January 3, 2011 Still too long. Train crews would spend 5 hours operating this train line. The still won't go for it.
Fresh Pond Posted January 3, 2011 Share #54 Posted January 3, 2011 I decided to take things in a different direction. Instead of making some impossible or unheard of new line (no offense guys), I'm thinking of a skip-stop on the . It can be called the K. No extra trains will be needed since the extra trains the uses will be sufficient enough. Here are the station layouts... stations 8 av 6 av Union Sq 3 av 1 av Bedford av Lorimer st Graham av Montrose av Morgan av Dekalb av Myrtle-Wyckoff Wilson Av Broadway Jct Atlantic av Livonia av East 105 st K stations 8 av 6 av Union Sq 3 av 1 av Bedford av Lorimer st Grand st Montrose av Jefferson st Myrtle-Wyckoff Halsey St Bushwick-Aberdeen Broadway Jct Sutter av New Lots av Canarsie
Roadcruiser1 Posted January 3, 2011 Share #55 Posted January 3, 2011 That is a good idea. If you looked at my posts on the last page you would find out that a gray was proposed to skip stop along with the . If this happens the , and the can be extended up Tenth Avenue to better serve the West Side, and be extended along the Bay Ridge Branch to create a much needed crosstown Brooklyn line on designated subway tracks on a line capable of carrying 6 tracks with only 2 surviving tracks today.
Fresh Pond Posted January 3, 2011 Share #56 Posted January 3, 2011 With my plan, you don't need no extensions, no need to lay new track, just turn every other onto a K during rush hours, nothing gained, nor lost You can't get no cheaper than that lol
Roadcruiser1 Posted January 3, 2011 Share #57 Posted January 3, 2011 I know your idea. I just put extensions in my idea to better serve Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Though you don't have to.

Roadcruiser1 Posted January 3, 2011 Share #59 Posted January 3, 2011 Why don't just have a crosstown line extension, but not with the . Instead create a new subway service using Cemetery Way in Queens, link it to the crosstown line, and run it down till it reaches the vincinity of 23rd Street in Manhattan, have it run in a tunnel across the river, and then send it up Third Avenue to go up to the Bronx.

Roadcruiser1 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #61 Posted January 4, 2011 The -6th Avenue was only a temporarily service to serve the Sixth Avenue Line when the 63rd Street Connector was under construction. There is no need for a -6th Avenue. Plus the gray is a real proposal which everyone believes should be implemented. It's to skip stop with the . The , and the has a similar service, and it works.

4P3607 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #63 Posted January 4, 2011 okay heres another subway route that has stops that are not too close together & has an express service as well. Roadcruiser1 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #64 Posted January 4, 2011 That is possible, and could be operated in within three hours. The only problem is the free track on the Hell Gate Bridge is just one alone. Every other one is used by railroads. So your would be bi directional on the Bridge.

EE Broadway Local Posted January 10, 2011 Author Share #69 Posted January 10, 2011 Not a Create Your Own Subway Route, but an extension idea of mine. extended from Jamaica-179th Street to Hollis-188th Street. The station would extend from 188th Street to 190th Street on Hillside Avenue with access at 188th and 190th giving Hollis her very first-ever subway station.
Roadcruiser1 Posted January 10, 2011 Share #70 Posted January 10, 2011 I've got some more ideas *Finish the Archer Avenue Subway *Create a LaGuardia Airport that would run from Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard to Mets-Willets Point. *Extend the , and from Flatbush Avenue to Brighton Beach which was originally intended. *Create the Utica Avenue Subway, and extend it onto the current Rockaway Park ROW. *Off topic, but I would create a First Avenue Light Rail that would run from Moshulu Parkway to 4th Avenue-9th Street , .

Roadcruiser1 Posted January 18, 2011 Share #74 Posted January 18, 2011 I actually have this idea I didn't mention yet. Why don't we just extend the to Secaucus instead. It goes through the same places as the does, and would do the same job as the . The only difference is you could send the farther into Eastern Queens (Bayside) which isn't served, but if they ever do that then the would be too long, but you can't extend the anywhere. It's also a local like the , and thus it would be possible to send the from Brooklyn Bridge to Secaucus via Hoboken. Or you could make the local, and make the an (8), and it can run as the Lexington Avenue Express alongside the which is still local, but it's the best option besides the .

Among other things, the will (once the current west side extension is finished) have a terminal very close to the Hudson, making it easy to extend under the river. The terminates far from the Hudson and would require massive construction in a very densely built area just to reach the Hudson. Extending the would easily cost five times as much as extending the .
