Schedules were basically shed to near nothing, with unreliable service that scared off what was left of the ridership. Perhaps a select extension of a few 186s north of the current Dumont terminus, but that's about it, if anything.
njbus86 Posted January 21, 2020 Share #27 Posted January 21, 2020 Right. They barely ran at all the last few months. They supposedly owe $57k to the pa in back rent. Too bad they ran the service into the ground. Maybe njt can incorporate at least portions of the routes into their operations in the near future..
go25 Posted January 22, 2020 Share #28 Posted January 22, 2020 And to think that they (Saddle River Tours) could hang and compete with the likes of Coach USA for routes, they ended up taking up way too much for the little they could do.
DCTransitFilms Posted January 30, 2020 Share #29 Posted January 30, 2020 Anybody knows where 17063-17070 gonna go? Wikipedia has them going to NJ Transit?

Kind of, especially when Greyhound recruits them for summer work to fill in for NY/NJ/PHL routes, some went as far as DC.

If Transit winds up running them they'll probably get new license plates as all the private carrier plates are Apportioned, and NJT's buses have Omnibus registrations. One note - Saddle River also had 18118 and 18119 which were the last two buses built in that group with restrooms, most of which went to either Egg Harbor or Meadowlands to run the 319 express into NY from Atlantic City and Toms River.
JAzumah Posted February 13, 2020 Share #37 Posted February 13, 2020 So NJT registers all of the buses and the private carrier insures them?

You don't need to tag them all, hell you don't need to tag anybody. Someone may reply to you eventually. But this habit of tagging umpteen people to get them to reply is frowned upon and it's not gonna get you the answers you're hoping for. I'm not tryna play wannabe-mod here but you gotta reign that in. Now, about Saddle River, no these routes stopped running months ago. njbus86 Posted June 20, 2020 Share #41 Posted June 20, 2020 I saw a fairly recent post on facebook that njt some time before the coronavirus had programmed route destination signs for route 183 to replace the 11c and route 184 to replace the 84. I presume this may have been dead in the water even before the coronavirus, but does anyone have any info on whether njt had considered operating the lines?
pkim87 Posted July 29, 2020 Share #42 Posted July 29, 2020 If Saddle River is not running these routes due to all the aforementioned issues, why do they still advertise the commuter service on their website? Seems a bit off. Does not sound like a good company to work for by the way they do things.
