My opinion of this is that this was more of the fact that CUSA sold the Westwood garage and they can't bring all their MCIs to wherever they are moving to (cough,Mahwah).

It's sad to see them keep getting smaller and smaller but one thing folks need to realize it that they aren't pulling the loads they used to out of Rockland county that they used too. Plus once they get into Jersey every line is overlapped by a NJT route that runs with more frequency then R&T can muster up. Add to the fact that the GWB is really not the not spot it used to be, if it ever was. Folks want the PABT,Midtown and Wall St.....they should have been focusing on that.

Looks like NJT will have some "new" crusiers in a month.

The loads are problematic:

11C:

445p - 24

545p - 32

645p - 28

845p - 15

14K:

545p - 27

84:

510p - 15

610p - 17

710p - 6

I think the 11C will work independently operated, although the overlap with the 11A could be a point of conflict.

The 14K and 84 would need a strong interlining partner to make sense. I'm not sure what I can do with those routes just yet.

Cusa has midtown service on city streets so why not extend 11C, 84 & 14K to midtown streets like 5th ave madison? itdoesn't make sense to end  at GWB as proven by ridership.

Kind of amazing numbers considering R&T sports 45 footers

A few weeks ago I ran across a dispatcher giving out surveys at Port Authority....now they're cutting service? Sheesh

Rockland has been cutting its GWB service back for years.  Instead of offering new service to adjust to changing travel patterns, they just cut routes that underperform.  It is a shame especially since the GWB terminal is finally being renovated, with fewer buses serving it.  NJT should take over some of these routes, and then have them continue  to midtown via the east side as an alternative to the overcrowded Port Authority Bus Terminal.

I have some old R&T schedules posted here, more to come:

I'm not trying to be funny, and I hate to make a VG8 type argument, but I cannot imagine the "working professionals" in Rockland County gunning for GWB like that.... Not because it's a heavily hispanic area, but more the fact that the type of commercialism surrounding Washington Heights paled/pales in comparison to the commercialism of a lower or midtown manhattan - "manhattan south", as some would call it... below CPS [59th st])..... So I'm more inclined to side with the "....if it ever was" part of your statement.

As far as their routes paralleling NJT routes.... A good example of what you're conveying here is apparent up along palisades av in englewood (I like their "downtown" area btw); ppl passing up the C-USA buses for NJT buses....

That, or having to take the (A) all the way up to some 175th to avoid taking a bus out of PABT.... I don't know how much of a time saving measure that is or not, but just looking at those numbers J. Azumah posted up is rather pathetic.....

It's something that some of those C-USA routes have been around for as long as they have.....

I was training on the 11C and the 20/84 as I'm going back to Part time work with Saddle River. I'll tell you what. The Tenafly and Harrington Park stops are going to be the bitch (20/84). And a lot of the streets that you have to turn on are unmarked and in the middle of nowhere. Ugh

Think maybe NJT's Pascack Valley trains running weekends now may have something to do with this as far as ridership attraction goes?

I thought NJT was gonna get those MCIs back that would've been repainted, Clever Device'd up and went straight to Howell

Those Rockland MCI's wayfarers have RFID card scanners (from what I saw on Flickr)
