  1. Yesterday
  2. I think it may have to do with GCT trainshed reconstruction but not entirely sure. Just a hunch.
  3. Nah there’s an entrance to LIRR if you walk straight down 42 Track go down the stairs and hang a left.
  4. What are you all talking about? North End Access never connected to LIRR, as far as I’m aware. You always had to go via the lower level of GCT or via the Biltmore Rook to access LIRR.
  5. 3961 LaGuardia, 4396 JFK retired and sent to Eastchester Scrap
  6. Any reason why? Plenty of people use that passageway, especially from LI to Yankee games and from the MNR region to Mets and Islanders games.
  7. Well this one caught me by surprise when I saw it on My Bus Now and luckily it came first so I can get a few pictures... not the best but, good enough.
  8. And for the record I had a roughly similar score and was 3100s and was called September 2021 (delayed of course by the pandemic)
  9. Sigh.....I just went to the MTA website to look at next week board meting and they will NOT talk about OMNY...ugh. I was looking forward to the meeting...oh well... 10. Very common, I live in Bronx and had to settle for Fresh Pond Depot. Honestly I like my routes and depot. I take the hit on the tolls but it’s a stress free environment.
  11. I wanted a BX depot because I live in the BX. So I'll have to commute for now. Hopefully when general pick comes around, I'll be able to get closer.
  12. Finally I'm ready to finish this : After the redesign things haven't been the best after it got rerouted down to Pelham Pkwy, (feel welcome to correct me if I'm wrong) to help w/ that bad frequency of the W60/W61 of Bee-line down there. People have noticed that this bus the bus is performing worse some even say that it carries air personally I just got onto Mta Bus time and have done this before when I look I do see buses carry what is close to air as in 3 to 10 passengers but then I sometimes see a good amt. like 21,30,42, etc. Everyone's solution is to extend the Bx30 Fordham and have the W60/61 closed door personally seeing that the Bx30 carries a decent amt. at times I don't see this as a big problem if people have a problem with trips that carry air we can just make the Bx30 a little less frequent. Bx37(New): I proposed this new route after hearing complaints about bad service to Baychester honestly I was thinking about running a Bee-line route down there maybe the W40 or even reroute the W53 either of them can go there from 241st. Then I came up with another idea and this way more transit service gaps get served. What I would do is start this route at Woodlawn (Katonah Av) with the Bx31/34 then have it go up Kimball av to make a turn on to Wakefield Av to not Just serve 241st but also the then it would continue straight to go to Baycheter Av. To sum it up: Bx37: Woodlawn (Katonah Av) - Baychester Av /: Personally looking at the two routes I honestly like them. The only problem with the two routes is I don't like how similar they are and there should be an SBS down the corridor. Honestly Mystic Transit proposed to make the Bx42 an Sbs which I don't agree with the Bx40 is more straight forward then the Bx42 so I'll give sbs service to that route instead. To make things more simple I would also rename the to the Bx40A I mean there's A variants already in the system (hell even B variants as well). To sum things up: Bx40: now an sbs Bx42 now the Bx40a Bx51(New): I came with this idea for 2 reasons 1(north of the Bx41 on Gunhill rd there's a service gap up Webster Av) 2(Bee-line proposed for the W26 to be deleted). Now honestly who could lame them people don't utilize transit in those areas like crazy but honestly the walk from Bronx River Rd - Kimall Av can be an unfriendly walk in some areas. what I would do is connect both corridors. I would have this new Bx51 start at the Mount Vernon West RR station. To go down Bronx River Rd and continue into Webster to Terminate at Gunhill Rd /. I would run the thing up to Cross County but with the new W105 proposed to serve there which I support (unlike the W20's presence there which should be back at Bedford Pk ) but I could use the Bx51 at Cross county to lose up crowding on the W105 placing me in a dilemma. As that is what the W26 is used mainly for (Hell I took the W26 from Cross County to 238thst). I only saw one person come from Bronxville as people got on at Cross County and even the Mount Vernon West RR . To be fair that was off-peak. To sum up my two options. Bx51: Mount Vernon West RR - Gun Hill Rd or 2. Bx51: Cross County - Gun Hill Rd .
  13. hey guys i took the test for locomotive engineer back in November. I passed it and finally received a call now for an interview via zoom. She scheduled me for may 21st. just wanted to know if anyone could give me a heads up on what type of questions the ask or if there is anything i can prepare for.
  14. So I guess they’re just not using them in other words stored.
  15. This past weekdays and up to today on a Friday, due to the ending and starting at E. 180 St, the three late PM rush trains that were scheduled to Utica Av were extended to New Lots Av. There was only 5 minute holds only at Van Siclen Av.
  16. Can anyone confirm this new change on the train programs: When biking over the Williamsburg Bridge, I saw an R179 train running to Manhattan in the morning and said - Jamaica Skip-Stop - Broadway Local - Broad St Instead of: - Skip-Stop - Jamaica Exp - Broad St
  17. End to end it can take 6 to 8 months to complete the hiring process. From "conditional offer" to start date can take 3 months. Background & Investigations can take 2 months. HR is many times inclined to not be in contact with candidates if there's nothing to report to them about. If you are "in process" you are at the point of awaiting a "conditional offer", if it comes the process continues if it doesn't then you didn't land the gig. Nothing on the portal interms of "status" is relevant. What you are awaiting is a possibility of an offer. The hiring process is long, tedious, drawn out & at times without communication. So while you may think they have abandoned you, they may return back when you are next up for action. Stay patient & don't think it happens it any time efficiency.
  18. This bus came back shortly a couple of months ago. I saw it parked in the depot a few weeks ago but hasn't run again. This one and 5939 both haven't been out, 5939 has been parked in the same spot for like 2 months now.
  19. R211A/Ts I rode today: 4089(A) 4219(A) 4041(C) and another R211A but I forgot.
  20. It can happen to any unit that isn’t well enough to continue service. 4037 and 4081 are examples.
  21. ah okay. that's cool. surprised Manhattan wasn't open at all. ideally I'd like to get into one of those depots but Brooklyn would be cool too.
  22. okay. thank you so much for all of your insight on this thread! you've been super helpful!
