  1. Could be in the shop for repairs, who knows. Don't always rely on trackers to see if a bus is retired or not.
  2. It wasn't that long ago when the B57 was a Fresh Pond route (January 2019-January 2020).
  3. I don't think there was ever a time where the MTA was all RTS in the 90s. The rebuilt Blitz units were around in the early 90s and the Orion V's came in starting in '93.
  4. If it does for the Q50, it won't be in time for the re-design as there isn't any new artics for MTA Bus on order and they'll have to pull buses from Transit and train the Eastchester ops for them (Unless the Q50 ends up being assigned or shared with Stengel for some stupid reason).
  5. The service change in question is worded as such: In Queens, midday local service runs express in both directions between Forest Hills-71 Av and Queens Plaza Jan 6 - Jan 28, Sat and Sun, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM What's happening? We're making accessibility improvements Looks like it will be local all day on the weekends, except during the midday.
  6. Some significant service changes are coming for the month on January during the weekends in Queens: No between 74 St-Broadway, Queens and 34 St-Hudson Yards, Manhattan. Jan 6 - 29, Sat 12:01 AM to Mon 4:00 AM runs in Queens between Main St and 74 St-Broadway, the last stop (every 8 minutes days/evenings). Free shuttle buses run along three routes: 1. Q107 Between 74 St-Broadway and Queens Plaza, making local stops. 2. Q93 between Queens Plaza and Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av. 3. Q92 overnight in Manhattan between Times Sq-42 St and 34 St-Hudson Yards. 42 Street Shuttle will run overnight. LIRR will accommodate NYCT customers traveling between Queens and Manhattan for no additional cost at Flushing, Mets-Willets Point, Woodside, Grand Central, and Penn Station. Click here to check LIRR service and schedules. During the same weekends, and Trains are running local in Queens, with and Trains getting a service boost during those weekends. Oddly enough, and Trains are only running express on Saturday and Sunday for only two hours (10 AM to 12 PM). Trains will also see significant service disruptions during the same window: No between 39 Av-Dutch Kills, Queens and 57 St-7 Av, Manhattan Jan 6 - 29, Sat 12:01 AM to Mon 4:00 AM operates in two sections (every 12 minutes days/evenings): 1. Shuttle train between Ditmars Blvd and 39 Av-Dutch Kills 2. Between Coney Island and 57 St-7 Av, and via the to/from 96 St Free Q108 shuttle buses run between 39 Av-Dutch Kills and Queens Plaza. Overnight runs via the between Queens Plaza and 34 St-Herald Sq, skipping 49 St in both directions. https://new.mta.info/alerts?selectedRoutes=MTASBWY%3A7%2CMTASBWY%3AN%2CMTASBWY%3AE%2CMTASBWY%3AF%2CMTASBWY%3AR&selectedDate=01%2F06%2F2024
  7. 3695 was in service a few hours ago. 3716 and 44 were in service not too long ago. For the other units, It’s possible they’re still at JFK as I didn’t spot those at the scrap lot yet.
  8. I only said it as people seem to forget that they have Novas and have been there for over 4 years now.
  9. It’s at the reserve lot with farebox still intact. It did run yesterday so let’s see if anyone can give confirmation on it being decommissioned.
  10. 3687 to Eastchester scrap. 3521, reported by @Calvin, is at the scrap lot too.
  11. Several Castleton units were damaged, though some notable ones were out for quite a while : 2645, 2660, 2673, 2716 (With buses returning to service over the course of this year). Orion VII units 7047 and 7049 have been out of service as well, both sitting at the Eastchester lot with no signs of them coming back. Other Castleton units got damaged, but were quickly returned to service in late 2021-early 2022 as those units didn’t receive severe damage like other buses did. Future note, it would be preferred if general questions are posted in the random thoughts thread on this site so the move thread doesn’t get cluttered.
  12. I was wondering as not too long after that, someone showed me it wasn't even on the system at BP weeks after you posted it was delivered.
  13. Was there are photo or was this yet another bustime glitch as the bus is on the B3.
  14. All loans for the day. Tuskegee borrows buses from all over every day. Same with Hale borrowing buses from The Bronx as of late.
  15. Question for Queens users here, was there really demand to have the Q44 go to Fordham on the Queens side? I can see why riders in The Bronx would be happy to have a faster alternative to Fordham compared to the Bx9, but was there demand for Queens riders to have a one-seat ride to Fordham? That Q50 is a double-edged sword. I'm happy to see it gain 24/7 service (it keeps the changes made in the Bronx redesign last year), though at the cost of seeing the route crawl when covering the old Q48 routing to LGA.
  16. Both 4204 and 4626 are back at Baisley. They were at JFK on loan for the day yesterday.
  17. As a person who doesn't live in Queens, there are some things that caught my eye. These are my opinions as an outsider: For the Q7, I wonder if there is demand for bus service on Rockaway Blvd west of Woodhaven. Seeing the Q112 replace it in Brooklyn will be interesting to see. I wonder if having the Q8 end at the New Lots station was necessary. Thank the lord the Q10/64 fusion was axed. The Q11/21 fusion I'm a-okay with. The Q26 given and significant expansion is interesting, though I wonder if the route would be efficient that way. I like the Q27 being taken off Holly Ave. I never quite understood why it had that routing on that narrow street to begin with. I think students of QCC benefit from the Q30 becoming a limited route to that school, though I'm not sure there is great demand for it to be that way. It's funny seeing the little turn at Queens Plaza be removed from the westbound Q32 routing. It's also weird to see the eastbound stop at 34th St be removed. I would of cut the 32nd St stop instead. It's funny to see the undo what they did 10 years ago with sending the Q33 back to the airport. Was there demand for local service to the airport from residents there? I like the Q37 being sent to the airport so that Q10 local buses would stick to Lefferts full-time. I'm fine with the Q44 being kept at the Zoo instead of extending it to Fordham Plaza, though I do get why people liked the proposed alternative to using the Bx9 from West Farms. I'm sure the 3 Union Turnpike variants (plus the Q75) would confuse the hell out of riders over there during the first few months. Well, riders in The Bronx finally got the route to LGA they always seemed to want (though obviously not in the way many wanted it to be). I kind of dig the streamlining of the Q66. I don't know how I feel about the proposed inter-borough routes (B53 and Q68), though those are being held off until the Brooklyn re-design is implemented. I have the same concern about the re-designed B57, with service in Red Hook being axed in favor of service north of Maspeth. Same with the B62 serving 21st Street in Queens. I'm not surprised by the overall reduction of service on express routes. I'm pretty sure the would of preferred to get away with making all express routes in Queens rush-hours only. I do wonder why they decided to add a stop at 1st Ave-34th St for the express routes that go to the Financial District (QM7, QM8, QM11, QM25, & the new QM65). Again, these are just my opinions and observations from a PDF proposal. I'm pretty sure regular Queens riders would have stronger opinions than I do here.
  18. 4204 must be there on loan. JFK has been borrowing buses from Baisley as of late.
  19. I've seen drivers pick up passengers a few minutes early so they have time to collect tickets or see those bought with the mobile app. Ticket collection is a hell of a lot faster than collecting cash from people that don't have it ready or don't know how much the zone fare is until they board.
