DOB2RTO 29 Posted November 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2007 Early this morning I seen Gun Hills 5729 with the all white back. It was on the Bx12. Spotted it at 2:25 a.m. It looked darn good, I must say.

TransitGuy 1 Posted November 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 20, 2007 What color are they usually? Normally the artic has a black rear grill area. However, this bus has been repainted, I believe the grill panel was replaced and painted white (it seems to be a new craze for the MTA)

For that it must of had its tranny replaced with the ones the 2003 have. Too bad I didn't get the hear if it sounded like the 2003 artics or the older ones, when accelerating. However, this bus has been repainted, I believe the grill panel was replaced and painted white (it seems to be a new craze for the MTA) I'm starting to wonder about the TA. Everything that doesn't get to dirty quickly is being painted white. Most things black (tires, fenders, and mud-flaps) are the things that get dirty the quickest. I think they are trying to tell us something. . HMMMmmmm, I wonder what could it be.. C-O-N-spiracy I say, lol.

DOB2RTO 29 Posted November 20, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted November 20, 2007 Haven't seen one yet, but I'd like to. Just keep an eye on Gun Hill artic routes. I'm surprised West Farms hasn't had any, with the multitude of Level II artics here. Freshly painted but with the black grill still.

DOB2RTO 29 Posted November 28, 2007 Author Share #15 Posted November 28, 2007 and the Bx4, Bx5, Bx22, Bx40, and sometimes the Bx30. You forgot the Bx39. They use them on the Bx28 during the rush hours. Kingsbridge also has extras on the Bx28 using their own artics, during the rush.
DOB2RTO 29 Posted December 2, 2007 Author Share #16 Posted December 2, 2007 You can add that Gun Hill bus to it too. Seen it on the Bx402 (Bx40/42) this morning.
Harry 1,088 Posted December 5, 2007 Share #17 Posted December 5, 2007 We can add M14D with a white back artic. I seen one this morning. I think they look better and cleaner with the white back.
DOB2RTO 29 Posted December 5, 2007 Author Share #18 Posted December 5, 2007 Also those that been repainted, have an extra air intake vent on the back rear left where the muffler goes up through. They always had one on the side rear left. Maybe that will stop the overheating during the summer now.

Harry 1,088 Posted December 12, 2007 Share #23 Posted December 12, 2007 Was on a break today and spotted that white back artic again on the M14D. I pulled my camera phone and shot a decent pic of it. I'll keep looking out for anymore and post them here. I believe this is the old Gun Hill artic now in service on the 14.
