NX Express Posted January 29, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2010 I think there is a ramp at Willets Point-Mets. It's only on the n-bound side platform, which is only used during games.

Guest MTA Bus Posted January 29, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 29, 2010 Lex Av - 59 St can't get ADA because the platform colums on the , , & make the platform too narrow for a wheelchair to nagivate.

Grand Concourse Posted January 30, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 30, 2010 Newkirk's platforms are pretty narrow though. It would pretty much block off one portion of the platform from the other.
SevenEleven Posted January 30, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 30, 2010 9. Franklin-Botanic Garden That station cannot get ADA because the two stations are connected by passageway.

Grand Concourse Posted January 30, 2010 Share #16 Posted January 30, 2010 Um, if the platform is too narrow, there's no way it can have an elevator as it would obstruct pedestrian flow and could be a hazzard if people needs to evacuate the platform. So unless the Newkirk station has an elevator at the very end of the platform and doesn't block the train, then that's the only way it can have an elevator. metsfan Posted January 30, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 30, 2010 Forrest hills *shiver* has (sadly infrequent) LIRR as an alternative. The 5th ave bryant park station is much more narrow than a lot of the other stations underground in manhattan, it is an interesting station, but a bit too claustrophobic for me. I don't think there is any space for an elevator, either above or below ground here. Mets willets point doesn't need elevators since any time there is an event at either the new stadium or the tennis complex LIRR stops there, though it would be nice for folks to be able to go there whenever. - A

cotb16 Posted February 3, 2010 Share #20 Posted February 3, 2010 Here's another set of stations that needs ADA compliance; 149th St-Grand Concourse Parkchester-East 177th St
nel070 Posted February 3, 2010 Share #21 Posted February 3, 2010 I would add West Farms Sq, Prospect, 174th/180th as busy stations on my line WPR! Agreed west farms needs it AdA because it has to be one of the highest stations in the system, besides smith 9 sts and intervale. I think west farms is at least six stories high.
