Right now, I am on 4848 New Flyer Xcelsior, on the B82 leaving Coney Island. End of RTS is truly nearing. Bus has ENY Depot stickers on it.

There are PLENTY of RTS' throughout Brooklyn, Queens and MJQ Depot in Manhattan. SOme are being overhauled. You can expect RTS's to be around for at least 3-4 more years, maybe 5.

I remember when QV had the XD40's the buses were kept clean. Now they are not being kept clean and the cords are breaking a lot.

 

 

 

Maybe ther passengers who ride QV routes respect the buses more than the passengers in Brooklyn?

If you follow this board you know that is temporary as the Orion 3rd Gens are being swapped with Castleton for the XD40's currently there.

 

As I said a while ago, EVERY bus assignment is temporary: from day 1 of service to retirement.

They are part of the reserve fleet.

 

NYCT has their reasons........whatever they are............maybe high mileage..............maybe poor performers.............maybe they need work that NYCT doesn't want to do.............only they know why they put them in reserve.

Those two Orion VIIs are on there for the same reason those 3 D60HFs are on there. In this case, they are there due to fire damage. I guess the MTA is deciding whether to repair them or can them.

I think it would've been better if Manhattanville got some RTS' instead of the Orion VII from ENY. It would add more variety of buses to Manhattan again.

Good luck! I would guess maybe a major recall on MCIs or Prevost.

It probably will end up on the 6 the most, but that's any bus it can end up anywhere. That bus was up on my ass yesterday that bus is too fast, I pulled over and let him haul ass infront of me. He did pull out late so I let him go infront of me.

It's not about variety and entertaining you. It's about efficiency. Your idea would require a spare part RTS inventory.

9570 will be the next bus to be moved to UP once it's finished with an investigation by officials. It was supposed to be moved with 9644 on Friday night (Saturday morning), but, again... An incident occurred during the move.
