lilbluefoxie Posted February 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2011 Since I did one for the commuter rail, I figured ill do an updated subway map. It is based off the 1994 map with some extra features I added in, such as the emphasis on weekend service.

7LineFan Posted February 27, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 27, 2011 Although, looking it over closely this time: I see your point about the semi-transparent bullets and lines being part-time, but they might be just a bit hard to see being that light, especially orange and yellow... maybe darken them a little so they're easier to see but not so much that you can't tell the difference between a full time line and part time. Still a beautiful map. And nitpicking a bit here -- Main St Flushing is underground. You missed a tunnel segment there.
4P3607 Posted February 27, 2011 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2011 Whoa!! Great :tup: map! That must have took forever to make! I especially love the Akzidenz-grotesk font!

T to Dyre Avenue Posted February 27, 2011 Share #7 Posted February 27, 2011 Looks great. From the Aksidenz font (which I think the MTA should re-adopt for its station signs and maps) to the portal symbols showing you where the trains come above ground to the parenthesis and brackets denoting part-time and terminal stops, it's a very nice job. Baseball02 Posted February 27, 2011 Share #8 Posted February 27, 2011 Excellent Map  But I found that the Tunnel Segment symbols on the (N)/(Q) near Queensboro Plaza and on the near 45 Rd are facing the wrong way. You're also missing a Tunnel Segment symbol near Main Street on the
Rell Posted February 27, 2011 Share #9 Posted February 27, 2011 amazing map. Only thing I noticed off was Hunts Point Av shouldn't have an "x"
NYCTNostalgia Posted February 27, 2011 Share #10 Posted February 27, 2011 It's breath taking! The only thing I dislike is the faded part time routes. I have to strain my eyes to see the ( etc... Grand Concourse Posted February 27, 2011 Share #12 Posted February 27, 2011 I agree, great map, but I think using the dashed lines to indicate part time service would be better than the semi-transparent colors.
Amtrak7 Posted February 28, 2011 Share #13 Posted February 28, 2011 -Norton gives me a "bad site" warning when I open the image. -SIR is way off scale, I think you should leave it out considering there is not much more than a map. -Missing Wilson St open air platform - Botanical Garden is in tunnel -As above, Main St is not in tunnel, Astoria/LIC portals wrong way The faded part time routes aren't that bad. Baseball02 Posted March 7, 2011 Share #18 Posted March 7, 2011 I think Part-Time trains should use dotted lines instead of semi-transparent ones. It's so hard to see the (!
