MattTrain Posted August 15, 2011 #8 Posted August 15, 2011 Cool video of the B division Redbirds aka the R-30s!
Dan05979 Posted August 15, 2011 #9 Posted August 15, 2011 OMG how many nerdy washed out jean wearing adults were in that video?
Bill from Maspeth Posted August 16, 2011 #10 Posted August 16, 2011 Wonderful video. Unfortunately I wasn't on it, I had to work elsewhere that day. But I did recognise many, many folks who were on it. Some are much older today, some are not doing so well health wise and others have passed away.

R68 Subway Car Posted August 16, 2011 #15 Posted August 16, 2011 Just incredible. The good old days of train lights blinking.
R32 3838 Posted August 17, 2011 #16 Posted August 17, 2011 I Love the video, whoever did this deserves the highest respect, I was only 2 when these cars retierd, I only rode them once, damn i hope they save those 2 cars at 207th, I would do anything to see these cars run again, especialy on a fan trip, whoever decided retierd these cars is a real total clown, these were in far better shape than any of the IRT Redbirds

R32 3838 Posted August 17, 2011 #18 Posted August 17, 2011 It had no AC, And if they added AC it would be to heavy I Know that but they still kept the R33WF singles and they didn't Have A/C ether
Joe C Posted August 17, 2011 #19 Posted August 17, 2011 I Know that but they still kept the R33WF singles and they didn't Have A/C ether The R33WF were 51 feet long and wern't as heavy as the R30.

105th St KK QJ JJ J Posted August 17, 2011 #21 Posted August 17, 2011 Personally I wished every car built before the R40s came with factor installed A/C. They most likely would still be in service and cars like the R32s and R38s would have rollsigns and marker lights on their bulkheads still. +1 :tup::tup:
