Wow, Jamaica and users in SW Queens are getting reamed right now with this one:

Part Suspended

(E)(F)(J)trains are delayed and/or rerouted in both directions while we investigate a loss of power near Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer

(E) service is suspended between Briarwood and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer/Jamaica-179 St.

Some Jamaica Center-bound (E) trains are rerouted on the (F) between Briarwood and Jamaica-179 St.

You may wait longer for (F) trains while sharing a track with rerouted trains.

(J) service is suspended between Crescent St and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer.

LIRR trains are accommodating MetroCard/OMNY passengers at no additional charge at Penn Station, Woodside, Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Atlantic Terminal, Nostrand Av, East New York and Jamaica stations.

See a station agent for a courtesy pass to nearby Q20, Q24, Q43, Q44-SBS, Q56, and Q60 buses.

Check mta.info for updates.

Got caught in this. (D) and (N) trains stopped at DeKalb before merging onto 4 Av Local. Because every train coming off the Manhattan Bridge was merging onto one track at DeKalb, this created insane backups along the (B)(D)(N)(Q) during the rush.  Since almost every (D) and (N) were waiting to merge with an (R), almost every non-Brighton train was held at DeKalb for at least five minutes. Crazy.

I'm surprised they did not run more trains through Brighton. There was an (N) that pulled into DeKalb announcing it was going via Brighton, then said never mind we're just running local to 59 St and proceeded to hold in the station for ten minutes.

4th avenue is back at it again.

Northbound (D)(N) and (R)trains are rerouted in Brooklyn while we investigate why a train's brakes activated near DeKalb Av.

Northbound (N)line to Canal St.trains are running on the express track from 59 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, then along the (Q)

Northbound (D)trains are running on the express track from 36 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

(R) trains are not running between 36 St and Whitehall St-South Ferry.

(R) trains are running between Bay Ridge-95 Stand 36 St in Brooklyn in both directions.

Travel Alternatives:

For service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, take the (2) or (4) trains.

Not related to this incident:

(F) trains are not running between Avenue X and Coney Island-Stillwell Av while we address a switch problem at Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

Rockaway Park (S) is suspended b/c of heavy snowfall between Broad Channel and B.116 St. Alternative service is the Q53-SBS or Q22.

That goes for the (A) between Rockaway Blvd and Far Rockaway, use the Q52-SBS.

Downtown 3 trains are delayed while EMS responds to someone in need of medical help at 34 St-Penn Station.

This is not possible now as the (3) dosent run past Times Square. Are people checking what they write before they post?

I knew there was an overnight GO where the (3) went to Penn Station a few days ago (not sure if it still happened last night though).

Apparently today due to the switch issues in Coney Island Yard, blocking trains from the Sea Beach side from entering service, R160s 9908-9912/9873-9877 made a one-day return to the (N), as did 8778-8782/9373-9377 on the (W). How many trips did it run I actually don’t know. I’m assuming it only ran a northbound trip, and went right back to the yard as a drop-out train that gets pulled from service either at Stillwell Av or 86 St.

Don't put your eggs in one basket. The weekend of Feb 18th is gonna be fun if something like this happens at a choke point.

Trains Rerouted

(A)(E)(F)trains are delayed and/or rerouted while our crews are troubleshooting a switch malfunction at 2 Av.

Some Jamaica-bound (F) trains are rerouted on the (G) line from Bergen St to Court Sq, then on the (E) line to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av.

I think you meant weekend of Feb 18-21 (the Presidents’ Day weekend). That is going to be a shitshow. At least there are two “saving graces”

1. even though the (4) isn’t running to Utica Av, it is running between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Seems like the original GO planned to suspend the (4) between Bowling Green and Utica Av (like they’ve done before). This way, WHEN the B-division goes to shit, the (4) will still provide Manhattan/Brooklyn service along with the (2)(3).

2. The crosstown (G) line is open and is running normal service, so get ready for those rerouted (F) trains.

Edit: It appears to have cleared up, so it's okay (for now):

However the switch that malfunction not too long ago at Whitehall Street (that was supposedly fixed) malfunctioned again:

The last stop on southbound (2)(5) trains will be Crown Hts-Utica Av or New Lots Av.

Are the switches at 34 Street–Penn Station not operational? Or do they need that much distance between the emergency teams and active track?

The (1) line has developed such a horrible rap over the last month smh....

The signal blocks are probably borderline at best. It would likely have been a complex and really slow operation.
