It's not looking likely. They're calling the second class off 4700 since reopening. They're in the 290s now.

If you check out the **Active Civil Service List webpage** of the NYC Open Data website, the list for Exam # 4700 has 1,165 candidates. Next, according to this webpage, "All eligible lists which were originally scheduled to terminate between March 16, 2020 and December 31, 2020 will be extended by one year." Therefore, it will be a while before they are finished with Exam # 4700.

**If you need help and/or instructions for the Active Civil Service List webpage, this is what you need to do:

1) Type "4700" into the search box located on the top right hand side of the webpage.

2) Press "Enter" on your keyboard. Note that the webpage does not change automatically.

3) Put the list numbers, which is the second column from the left in descending order.

4) If you scroll down, you will see that the highest list number for this exam is 1,165. If you scroll to the right, you will also see that the list was supposed to expire on November 12th, 2020.

An op out of my depot starts on Monday. Can't wait for them to get 4700 out of the way and get 8702 going. The sick usage letter came in the mail yesterday and I got hype.

What are you talking about. Under civil service law they're allowed to request a list extension and DCAS honors it.

Quoted from DCAS

"(d) The commissioner of citywide administrative services may also by resolution prior to the expiration date of an eligible list extend the duration of such list as provided for in section fifty-six of the civil service law, as amended by section one of chapter four hundred and forty-three of the laws of nineteen hundred and seventy-six."

Those who passed the 8702, we must write a grievance to NYCTA for letting us know, when they are going to make the list. It is really not acceptable for making 4700 list extended for 6 years.

A dispatcher today told me that another class went in today, from off our test 8702 even tho they didn’t establish a list.....he said they were calling randomly.......idk how true that is sounds too fishy to me ......

Its definitely from Old list 4700, they can't call or hire without establishing a list.

I emailed exams unit and this is the response I received

Unfortunately, this list is has not yet been established.  We are working with DCAS to get it established as soon as possible.

so I know it’s a vague answer but I didn’t expect a pinpoint date on when a list will made public but they did say the list will be used very soon so hopefully it’s before 2020 ends

I’m praying that when 4700 expires On November 12th or at least soon after they establish the new 8702 list! I guess time will tell. Calling from both list would screw up seniority. Anyone hear anything from a reliable, concrete source as to why they canceled the new test?

I called dcas and MTA exams today.  dcas claims they have nothing to do with it call MTA. Mta said there is no information about 4700 being extended. They also said that 8702 should be established in the next couple months by the end of this year or begging of next year.  I guess we shall see.
