  1. The front ones on the R46 and R68 are fine and have been for years now, no need to change it. The 32s are too old to need them now, but at least being able to distinguish color on the 142-179s helps a lot at rush hour. They’re also dirt cheap anyways.
  2. I honestly don't know if that "acorn stairlift" type thing will work, but I will say that if it did, it likely wouldn't be going in a super high ridership station that demands that people must get through it as quickly as possible. This would belong in a smaller to moderate station whose area (population wise) is little served by accessibility, where it could have it's uses as people don't need to move too efficiently. Anything bigger than that, and the elevators the way to go, no debate there.
  3. Cant wait to see someone post about that on r/thathappened lol.
  4. These recent hits seem more irritating to me regardless of the purpose. Least of our problems I suppose but still disappointing to see.
  5. That makes sense. I was always under the belief that this was the tight control of the city. The bridge still needs to be upgraded or replaced in my opinion, make it faster for both boats and trains to pass through.
  6. Chopping down a few trees wont make climate change effects come any sooner frankly. It's a minuscule trade-off for a proposal with theoretical potential to work.
  7. That to Rosedale idea belongs somewhere else... Gimme a break with these proposals.
  8. I could see both the former option happening realistically and I support it, it has happened many times before and people deal with it good enough. The latter option may come a little bit later eventually since that bridge is fine. That sounds like a legal nightmare frankly between the and the city, it'll take years for that idea to pass in the area (if at all). I'd focus on making the raising and closing process of the bridge quicker and/or more reliable for now, or raising it higher.
  9. Theres a point reached where these dirty cars can affect reliability and viruses passing around. For the funds the has, they can certainly do better on this.
  10. IMO this is an issue people undermine when talking about problems. This bridge being raised can chain react train issues way down the longest line in the subway system by dozens of minutes at a time, and you better have some cojones riding the in bad weather when the bridge frequently breaks down. Not against boat movement, but the bridge needs to be upgraded or fixed for any train service along it to improve.
  11. Absolutley, I’ll see and try if I can make some maps as well somewhere down the road, though I do have limited time. Inkscape is another good alternative to Adobe Illustrator thats free also which may come in handy. Other than that, this is an amazing idea so far, cant wait to see where it goes @RR503. Keep it up!
  12. Saw one car of an R179, think it was 3226 or 3227 or something at Broad channels testing track.
  13. Indeed they don't really need city buses, I have friends on Breezy point and most of them just drive anyways or get driven. There isn't any local bus or subway advocacy there. Most that want to take transit drive or ride a shuttle bus to the QM16, and that's fine for them in a forthright sense.
  14. You're not necessarily an apologist for every little opinion you have in favor of the agency. (restating the point) The issue is obviously being addressed as many will be caught so it's pointless to freak out at this stage unless hard evidence surfaces to prove they are not, which frankly could happen. Though I wouldn't begin to over speculate like this.
  15. @whz1995 The WillyB has been underutilized for years due to speed restrictions as we have mentioned, so seeing bikers win is little surprising at this point, and the side effect of years of operational inefficiency. *Additionally, this discussion on the train and WillyB should probably be moved to the random thoughts or proposals thread. This thread is for R179 developments when it gets back on topic.
  16. Thanks for asking, Bridges - Brooklyn, Verrazano and Marine P. bridges, I dunno about Tappan Zee Tunnels - Queens Midtown and Steinway (not amazing, but I find both somewhat rustic and bustling) Roads/streets - Liberty Av. and Lefferts Blvd. (I with family visit many shops and the Q10 along there). And the Stillwell Av. area, I also like some of the scenic streets of Inwood and Riverdale, many I can list off the top of my head. What are yours?
  17. America getting a little scared of China huh lol...
  18. The should really prioritize opening these 50 elevators between 2020-2024. All these elevator opening delays and investments on cosmetic transit art/rehabs should be nothing but noise.
  19. Non SBS XD60 showed up on the Woodhaven Route, coming out of JFK. How often does this happen? Its likely a bus shortage.
  20. Nahhhhhh, we should always blame the MTA for everything! Its clearly not like the kids havent had developed brains yet. Lets let them complain and farebeat our system with Airpods stuck in their ears!
