  1. You can email the Exams Unit with your intention to defer at this time. You have a year from your first deferment to add your name back to the list. You can re-add and defer 3 times in total. After the third reinstatement, that’s it.
  2. Login to the portal @ mymta.info on a computer. Once you’re on the homepage, there will be tabs on the left side. Click on “My Pay” and then Direct Deposit. Run through the instructions and submit it. It can take up to a month for it to take effect.
  3. Just get something that’s uniform colors that’s comfortable. We just switched vendors so it’s going to be a while for you to start getting your uniform. You can buy patches and some polos from the guy selling outside of Zerega. You can only wear polos until Halloween. After that, you must wear a blue button up shirt. Get a tie if you haven’t already, you will need one with your button ups on October 15th. Get both badge holders. You can wear the one around your neck but technically it’s only supposed to be when you wear your polo. Nobody (except maybe Zerega) will bother you about it. If you want, the same guy outside Zerega does old school badges with the holder, if that’s something that you’re interested in. Congrats on graduating.
  4. You can respond to the email and say that you're deferring. You have a year from deferment to restore your name back to the list.
  5. Nah, we got a 45 ft bus numbered 7575 running around.
  6. I don't have the documentation available but there's two tiers: The standard is $15 copay but no paycheck deduction. The premium is $0 copay but ~$30/check. The majority of things are covered with just your copay.
  7. You can start off as a C/R and always transfer over to IT when a position is available. You're going to take a big hit in pay until you get to top pay but there's a lot of OT available, as well as opportunity for promotions. Also, consider if your job now has a pension/benefits plan that matches or exceeds NYCT's. The downside is that you're definitely going to be waiting a while to see a 9-5 with weekends and holidays off. Your schedule will be all over the place until you get off the XX (Extra Extra List).
  8. And also to ensure that ADA riders are accommodated.
  9. They ask to not mistakenly cut you in the line or to make sure that they waiting in the right spot for the bus. (Since some express buses stop staggered from the stop pole)
  10. There's no resume to submit for any of the Bus Op positions. You just apply, take the exam and go from there.
  11. Far Rock functions like Meredith Depot in Staten Island if I'm not mistaken, so you might spend a few days there if you pick (or get forced) into JFK depot. Coming out of the 10 day, you're going to where they need you and to wherever your seniority affords you. I lived in walking distance to Jamaica depot and I got forced to Staten Island. 🙃
  12. You need to have your regular Class D license for at least 3 years but you must have at least your CDL permit when you apply.
  13. This is for a full time position at MTA Bus, so you will be able to work out of all of the MTA Bus depots. As per the job posting, there are two different payscales depending on which depot you work out of: If you work out of an ATU depot (Spring Creek, JFK or Far Rockaway), your top pay is $34.06 until a new contract is signed with the ATU locals of the MTA. If you work elsewhere (the TWU depots), the top pay is $36.42. Also, if you go to an ATU depot, you can only pick into those three depots every system pick. Far Rockaway functions like Staten Island's Meredith depot, so don't expect to pick there right away. This is NOT a civil service title so you cannot bring (or build) time with NYCERs.
  14. The XDs cross train with the hybrids so it's a matter of learning the differences.
  15. NYCT can send equipment to MTA Bus but I don't think they can do it in the reverse, if the buses were bought with fed money. I don't think they're gonna pull MCIs, they've been pulling Prevosts from elsewhere on the island.

  17. Depends on whether 10'6 is the absolute clearance or not. (If it's not, then it depends where the sign is posted and the physical attribute of the overpass)
  18. 8400, 8244, 8246, 8236, 8702, 8703 to scrap. 7001 is still in the shop being worked on. I haven't gone looking for 2673 or anything else.
  19. No, you won't lose your job. You will be bumped down to restricted duty until your hearing loss can be corrected within guidelines. Talk to your union reps regarding this, they'll have more info.
  20. That's bout right. 2220, 2225 and 7047 are definitely gone. 7001 and 2673 are in the shop right now awaiting their fate. @XcelsiorBoii4888
