Those assignments are not final. Eastchester is not getting any hybrids because they can't fuel them. What I think what might happen eventually is the Bx23 and Q50 run out of CP and the Q38 returns to LGA.

45 buses for LGA isn't enough which I think the whole assignment list is not correct.

I don't know the exact number but LGA has close to 90 1996 RTS's and they have to retire. Most likely about 36 Orion VII's are going to LGA but they still might need more because if they ever got the Q38 they would need more buses.

I'm very surprised CS is not on that list because they have 72 Orion V's and displaced hybrids are not going to cover all them buses when most of those depots have a whole bunch of RTS's to replace. Then again the options are probably going to be taken and the assignments will be adjusted.

I know that's why I said IF. And keep in mind that not EVERY RTS and Orion V are gonna be replaced with the LFS and XD40s. Also, did you forget (MTA) bus's XD60 order which will not just replace the 1999 D60s bus but replace some of the (MTA) bus RTS?

And yes the assignments are not official, but sometimes it's fun to wonder what if.

Who says they can't fuel them?

Options don't need to be taken if buses are going to be shifted around. We'll have to wait and see.

Preliminary XD40 Assignments

This is subject to change, as you know nothing is in concrete. Dunno what's being traded around and/or retired (if any), but this is what we know...I'm just a messenger here passing the info along

7090-7155: East New York

7156-7217: Flatbush (yeah, I had that same look of shock too lol)

7218-7293: Grand Av

7294-7316: Ulmer Park

7317-7365: Fresh Pond

7366-7410: LaGuardia (MTA Bus order was lumped into the NYCT order)

Happy to know that GA will not be neglected here yet sad to hear that GA will lose some of their older buses. I wish that they could get the ZFs as they will likely be the last of the Nova RTS' to do service at NYCT. GA should definitely get the last of the order as they already have new buses. 76 buses are too many for that depot (like I can picture seeing those buses on the B47 or B57 and B60 mostly).

I am going to seriously miss the 9600s and 6300s. Need to catch them while they are here.

I agree, not to mention GA is one of the best maintained depots around so it would make sense to keep the older buses until the last of the buses from the new order is completed.

So when the XD40s and LFS all arrive, will they keep a few Orion Vs and RTS like they did to the Orion V Ex-Bee lines?

Boy, I hope so.

As far as I am concerned, they can send all of the remainders of those buses over to Grand Avenue and Queens Village.

Also, I do feel that QV should be last to get new LFs in the entire system. That and Maspeth should receive their XD40s last, just like Gleason did a few years ago.

If there are not enough new buses to replace the old RTSs and O5s at MTA Bus, I would expect the 1998-1999 Novas to replace them, until the option order comes in (if taken) that would knock off those buses and the oldest NYCT hybrids. (Also keep in mind that an RFP will be needed soon to replace the O7 CNGs, as those must be retired between 2017 and 2019 when their tanks expire.)

I'm glad GA is getting a lot of new buses. They need them. Plus those O5's need to go anyway.

I am sorta happy for them as well. I just wish that they would get their bath of newbies (they are supposedly getting more than every other depot this go around at 76 xd40s) last so that the 1997 Novas and 1998 Vs could last a little longer. They are all work horses. I also wish QV  would get the third pair of buses that Jam is set to receive so that their Novas won't be outplaced so quickly.

But I am glad that so many 96xxs are making the mecca to Maspeth as I hope GA keeps them. 9626 is now there on the Q59 this morning.
