This is not a move, but I drove past 7194 on the Williamsburg-bound B47 bus this afternoon. GA decals and everything. For a moment, it took me a back. Then, I realized that it was to be expected. Either way, It looked like it did well this afternoon in the pre-snow conditioned weather.

It's more than that. I've got 24 counted. I take back my snow guess, this looks like something more serious. Not sure why or how this move is happening, but I have:

 

8000, 8010-8012, 8015-8016, 8020-8021, 8023, 8025, 8027, 8033, 8036, 8040, 8044 QV to CS. [15 buses]

8059-8050, 8053, 8063, 8068, 8071, 8073, 8080-8081 JA to CS. [9 buses]

 

I would guess a few O5s will be saying sayonara with these new buses. I don't know who lost what for JA and CS to give away those buses.

Give it a few days. Unless these buses are still operating on CS routes on Tuesday and Wednesday or they got CS stickers, then these seem like they are loans for CS and they are trying to keep as mush LFSAs off the Q44 as possible.

If they stay at CS then my reaction will be wow Jamaica is losing everything. Jamaica must be getting a lot of new buses.

 

 

So is the MTA's decision to retire all buses from the 90's true? That means the 1999 RTS's won't be spared.

So is the MTA's decision to retire all buses from the 90's true? That means the 1999 RTS's won't be spared.

For now, only the 1996 RTSS and Orion Vs are getting replaced. Maybe a few 1998-99 RTSs will retire as well, but they will be completely replaced when the option order arrives.

Adding some more to this list: 8054, 8058, 8077, 8084, 8089. That makes 29 buses total. 4681 also from Jamaica.

 

Important to note that almost no LFSAs pulled out this morning, so this could be just to keep the 60-footers off the roads. Or it's a transfer. We'll wait and see. For what it's worth, at least 40-50 buses have been moved around in Manhattan this weekend to keep artics off, so that is something happening.

Okay, so just got word from my friend at stengel.

 

Those buses are supposed to go back to their respective depots between now and tomorrow. He has  one now and was told pull it into QV when hes done.

 

As of right now (per bus time), there are FOUR artics on the Q44. #5895, #5902, #5905 and #5922

(3 buses) 8012, 8023, 8027 QV to CS.

(2 buses) 8050, 8053 JA to CS. Not sure why.

(4 buses) 9568-9569, 9571, 9604 UP to FP.

(2 buses) 9572, 9587 UP to GA.

(5 buses) 9371, 9396-9399 FP to GA.

All I've been able to confirm is 9397 & 9398, everything else including those I just tracked could be as much of a loan as those LFS'.

9568 ran out of FP yesterday. 9569, 9571, and 9604 have been at the depot since pulling in at 11:32, 8:55, and 11:32 AM respectively on Saturday. 9572 pulled into GA at 9:20 AM on Saturday, 9587 at 8:42. If they go back, they go back, but I just report 'em like they happened.
