New Bx8: Runs from Woodlawn/Katonah to current southern terminal via Katonah, 233rd Street, and then Bronxwood, when it continues down the current route. The Bx8 would replace the Bx31 and Bx34 buses.

New Bx31: Runs from Wakefield / MNRR station to Westchester Square via 241st Street, Baychester Avenue, Nereid Avenue, Mundy Lane, Baychester Avenue, 233rd Street, Laconia Avenue, then continues down current route. This would replace the Bx16 along the current streets.

New Bx16: Pelham/Ropes to Fordham/Valentine via 233rd Street Crosstown. Would run on 233rd Street from Dyre Avenue to Jerome Avenue, replacing the Bx31. This bus would also replace the Bx34 bus along Bainbridge/Valentine Avenues to Fordham, and would run 7 days a week.

New Bx23: Runs from Woodlawn/Katonah to Flushing/Main Street, Queens via Katonah, 233rd Street, Webster, Nereid, Mundy Ln, Pitman, Baychester, 233rd Street, Dyre Avenue, Boston Road, Conner Street, Baychester Avenue, Co-Op City Blvd. (East Side Co-Op City) to Pelham Bay Park, then assumes old QBx1 route to Flushing, making all stops.

Bx25: Runs from Woodlawn/Katonah to Flushing/Main Street (alternate of Bx23) via Katonah, 233rd Street, Baychester Avenue, Boston Road, Conner Street, Co-Op City Blvd. (Western half), Baychester Avenue to Pelham Bay Park, then assumes old QBx1 route to Flushing, making all stops.

The Bx23 and Bx25 routes are alternates of each other, one runs on the east side of Co-Op City, the other on the west. Special rush hour shuttle buses would still run between Pelham Bay Park and Co-Op City, but those buses would be given letters A-F.

The Q44 and Q50 would both become SBS routes running from Jamaica to the Bronx.

Bx15 SBS: Harlem/12th Avenue to Williamsbridge/White Plains Road. This new bus is essentially the old Bx55 bus. Late nights replaced by the Local bus.

Bx15 Local: Mott Haven/138th Street to Fordham Plaza. Late nights runs the full route making all local stops. Late night buses runs every 30 minutes.

Bx41 SBS: Harlem/12th Avenue to Williamsbridge/White Plains Road.

Bx41 Local: Mott Haven/138 Street to Fordham Plaza.

Bx17: Runs from Williamsbridge/White Plains Road to Port Morris/135th Street.

Bx18 Limited: Runs from Fordham Plaza to Harlem/St. Nicholas Avenue, making limited stops along Bx17 route, then replacing Bx33 bus from St. Ann's Avenue/138th Street to Harlem. Old Bx18 replaced by Bx40/Bx42/Bx43.

Bx32: Extended from Mott Haven/138th Street to Port Morris/East 132nd Street via 138th Street, complementing the Bx18 Limited, and replacing the Bx33, giving S. Bronx residents better service.

Bx19 SBS: Makes Limited stops along 145 Street, 149th Street and Southern Blvd.

Bx19A Local: Runs from Gateway Mall to 149th Street, then along Bx19 Local route to Botanical Gardens.

Bx13: Extended to Hunts Point, replacing the Bx6.

Bx5 SBS: Pelham Bay Park to Harlem/157th Street, replacing the Bx6, making limited stops along 161 Street (Bx6), Story Avenue & Bruckner Blvd (Bx5).

Bx5 Local: White Plains Road to Harlem/157th Street, replacing the Bx6, making local stops along 161 Street.

New Bx6: Bainbridge/Gun Hill Road to Gateway Mall via Bainbridge, Mosholu Pkwy, Sedgwick Avenue, University Avenue, then down Bx13 route to Yankee Stadium, then down River Avenue to Gateway Mall.

Bx43 Limited: Makes limited stops along E. Tremont Avenue. (Westchester Square to River Park Towers)

Bx40/Bx 42 extended down Undercliff/Sedgwick Avenues replacing Bx18 (would still pass by the towers).

I know this is MTA Regional Bus Operation section, but I made another bus.

W93 Super Express Pelham Bay Park- Playland Amusement Park- Seasonal Only

Base fare is $2.25 one way.

This would provide direct bus service to Rye Playland for Playland and beach fans.

N58: Extend via N20/N21 to via Old Q79.

Open Doors on Little Neck Parkway

N58 to Floral Park will make all N58, N20 Limited-Stop, then non-stop on Q79 route to Little Neck Station, then all Q79 stop to Q36 terminus, then make all stops to Little Neck Station, then via N20 Limited stop to Great Neck, make N58 stop to Kings Point.

Maybe this might make Q79 bus rider happy?

tripleeye49 : Good ideas. I doubt the MTA would implement them but, by glancing at them, many of them make sense.

Yuki: The N58 is timed to meet departing LIRR trains (I'm assuming those going to Manhattan). If the Q79 were to be combined with an LI Bus route (which I highly doubt is going to happen considering the situation going on in Nassau County), the best route would probably be the N1, as it is a straight shot up Plainfield Avenue. In addition, since it would be serving 3 LIRR schedules (Little Neck, Floral Park, and Valley Stream (though not directly)), coordination with the LIRR schedules is less of a priority.

Either that, or the N2 can be combined with the former Q79 by going down Tulip Avenue (though that would be less direct than the N1 extension, and less of a "crosstown" route)

you would be wise to not underestimate them If you use a rte that's profitable they are more likely to extend that and merge it like they did with B57 and 75 in brooklyn!!!!

Imagine if there was a rehab project on the (F) line along hillside towards 179th street and ALL (E) and (F) trains went to Jamaica Center at all times. But wait , what's gonna replace the service on the (F) line between Union Turnpike and 179th street.

Behold the Q52 bus based out of the Jamaica Depot will run between Union Turnpike and 179th street , Jamaica.:P
