Well I haven't been here for a while. Lets say that a water pipe bursts on the 8 Av line. The problem isn't that much until it starts to leak into the Broadway and 6 Av lines. The 8 Av line between 50 St (A)(C) and 7 Av (E) and Brodaway/Nassau is completely unusable, the 6 Av line is unusable from 7 Av (B)(D) and 57 St (F) to W4. W4 and 57 St may not be used as a terminal. Have fun.

Crossover added before 5th Ave

<7>(7) trains run from Flushing to 5th Ave

(S) trains on track 1 run overnight

Half (M) trains run via the (E) from Lex to W4

M42 buses are free between 6th Ave and Times Square

Transfer to the (E)(N) or (Q) in Queens for service to Times Sq

W-w-what? You aren't giving 6th Ave service because the (7) cant get to it.

The way I interperted it, NO TRAINS could pass througjh that area where the (7) runs through AT ALL (the (7) line, the 6th avenue lines or otherwise).  That's why I did what I did.  No one said the 6th Avenue lines were unaffected by that.

Assuming it was the way I interperted it, I would have gone into fasttrack mode to get the SAS side of the 63rd Street station up and running so there could at least be a shuttle between 47th-50th and 63rd-Lexington Avenue to connect to the "Yellow D" that would be the line running through 63rd and replacing the (F) in Queens.  There also could be an express shuttle between 47th-50th and 125th, 145th or 168th street.

NEXT:

Due to a power failure at 51Street on the (6), signals and switches are not working between 28 St and 68 St. It is rush hour and 5 (6) trains are stuck in that area along with 3 (4) and (5) trains. Buses are limited due to the fact that it is rush hour and routes need buses to control the major loads.

Have the 4 run local from the Bronx to 125 th street and the 5 train would run between east Chester and 14 th street union via 7 ave and back up via the south ferry loop local in lex ave lower and 7ave exp have limited shuttle bus run between 125 th and 14 th street and to use other manhatthan buses, 6 trains would run between phelam and 125th or 86th then a 4 between 14th and crown heights

How does one train derailing cause the whole complex to have a 'structural problem'? How about keep it simple and stop after the derailed at GC part?

Not trying to defend it, but he probably means only the Lex portion. And if you go back to the union square wreck, that needed to be repaired. He probably means a "major" derailment that it has to hit the pillar and smash the train and shit..

Ok now lets say that there is strutual problems on the Williamsburg bridge this will require a 2 year fix how will you reroute these trains, since this is long term you can bring back routes that no longer exist.

(M) Metropolitan Avenue - Marcy Avenue; 2nd Avenue - Forest Hills

(J) Jamaica Center - Myrtle Avenue

(Z) Jamaica Center - Broadway Junction

(S) Essex Street - Broad Street (Chambers Street during the weekend)

Basically what the MTA did in 1999, except no (M) from Chambers to Bay Parkway.

The Forest Hills-2nd Av. portion would just go back to being the (V) for the time.

With his other posts on the side of the over the top absurd, it's hard to tell what he means. Of course the Union sq wreck was a big deal, but I don't think that's the kind of derailment that would pop up right away, imo.

The Union Sq wreck was fixed in a few days. Trains terminated at 59th and Brooklyn Bridge.
