Turbo19 Posted January 21, 2014 Share #3976 Posted January 21, 2014 I just said the 60th tube was OOS lol. And the via the would be a foam fest. That's why I really thought this through & made sure that would be the only answer lmao. And the MTA ordered this special subway car that eats it's way out of tunnel blockages of all shapes & sizes to clear the cotton candy at the end successfully resuming normal service by Monday. Wow, you got me, for real. I'm off to hide in shame.

Orion V 9441 Posted January 21, 2014 Share #3980 Posted January 21, 2014 The switch leading from the Canarsie line to the Westbound Broadway Local track at Broadway Junction is stuck in the reverse position (down the ramp). It's 2pm but due to an earlier failure the crew won't be on scene for a while and it will take "a few hours". Additionally, a Railfan believed they saw an MUDC while at 14th/7thave causing a 'foam incident'. The frothy precipitate will close all tracks through the station for the night. Do what you have to do. For the first incident: : Service running from Manhattan terminates at Myrtle Avenue using the pocket track. Two shuttles will single track the section between Broadway Junction and Myrtle Avenue (one train on the Manhattan-bound track, another on the Canarsie-bound track.) In order to facilitate quick turnarounds at Myrtle Avenue, since the platforms will be used by the trains from Manhattan, I would move the guards to the rearmost cars of the two shuttles. Theses two shuttle trains will also be supplemented by shuttle buses running from Myrtle Avenue to Broadway Junction. The section from Broadway Junction to Rockaway Parkway will be covered by the until crews arrive to fix the problem, after which passengers will have to rely on shuttle buses only. : In order to provide direct service to Canarsie, half of all trains will run along the BMT Jamaica line to Broadway Junction, and providing service between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway. When the crew arrives on the scene, the service will terminate at Broadway Junction on the centre track. : In order to provide additional capacity on the line in the absence of the , trains would operate express in the Eastbound direction between Marcy Avenue and Broadway Junction on the centre track, stopping only at Myrtle Avenue. When crews are on the scene, the trains will serve the normal eastbound platform instead until the problem is cleared. 2nd incident: : No service south of 34 St-Penn Station. Shuttle buses will be used to bridge the gap between Penn Station and Canal Street. : Service split into two section: Service north of 34 St-Penn Station and: Service from Canal Street to Brooklyn College-Flatbush Avenue. Shuttle buses will be used to bridge the gap between Penn Station and Canal Street. : No service south of 34 St-Penn Station. Shuttle buses will be used to bridge the gap between Penn Station and Canal Street. : To replace service in Brooklyn, all trains run local east of Franklin Avenue to New Lots Avenue.

Wallyhorse Posted January 23, 2014 Share #3988 Posted January 23, 2014 Getting this back to something a little more realistic:Major power problems at Broadway Junction have created havoc on all three trunk lines that use that station that are expected to run through the entire evening rush hour. In addition, the Cranberry Street and Clark Street tunnels have been knocked out of service because of separate power problems in Downtown Brooklyn (the Joralemon Street tunnel and the bridges are unaffected by this) that are also expected to run through the entire evening rush hour. The Montauge tunnel is still closed as well.

cl94 Posted January 27, 2014 Share #3997 Posted January 27, 2014 So Godzilla brought down the Jamaica Line? Here's what I've got: In Manhattan/Brooklyn: terminates at Essex Street, using the middle track (normally Brooklyn-bound ) running with as many extra trainsets from the as Queens Boulevard can handle Suspended Transfer to at Essex to continue into Manhattan. To access stations south of Essex, transfer to at Broadway Junction or at Broadway-Lafayette. In the Rockaways: Until the switch is fixed (assuming the Rockaway-bound track is unaffected: All Far Rockaway-bound trains sent to Rockaway Park. Rockaway Suspended Shuttle train / / / whatever the decides to call it runs from Beach 105 Street (relaying on a yard track or the pocket track southof the station) to Far Rockaway over the wye track To access stations normally serviced by , transfer to shuttle train at Beach 90, 98, or 105 Use LIRR Far Rockaway Branch as an alternate. First Incident: : Service terminates at westbound Essex Street, and operates local, stopping at all stops. As it is rush hour, there is no point in operating shuttle buses as it will only make congestion above worse : Service suspended. Second Incident: : All Rockaway-bound trains operate to Rockaway Parkway Station. A shuttle service to Mott Avenue will operate using the same routing as the train after Hurricane Sandy. Additionally, extra service will be provided on bus route Q22.
