Amtrak7 Posted January 19, 2012 Share #32 Posted January 19, 2012 the NJT Bus Excel spreadsheet, is that an average passenger count for a month? The data is uploaded in the raw form as it was given to me, protection and all Sheet 1: Median ridership for Nov 2011 Sheet 2: Counts by day for Nov 2011 Sheet 3: Sums for Nov 2011 I don't know why NJT chose median and not mean. Since some routes which do not run weekend service show a small handful of weekend trips, I would assume these are farebox counts and the driver just forgot to reset the farebox. Amtrak7 Posted January 19, 2012 Share #34 Posted January 19, 2012 Very nice find, brother! It took several emails and a phone call to get this, so even though they misinterpreted my request (I wanted station counts and train counts, not a combination of both), I'm not going to pester them again. But that means no off peak rail data...

553 Bridgeton Posted January 19, 2012 Share #37 Posted January 19, 2012 Still gotta ride the whole 317 too.... Lol make sure you have some snacks. If you ride(not going to put the time/run for safety)out of WRTC that driver stops at Dunkin Donuts for a leak/smoke/snack break And if you happen to fall asleep and wake up to two armed guards don't freak out lmao. Happened to me once. Showed em my njt Id n dls and they kept it moving.

So when I get home, I'll just post the trip log in this thread - since I'm at 99% full w/ my PM's..... Lol make sure you have some snacks. Happened to me once. Showed em my njt Id n dls and they kept it moving. The time I took it full, I had went to the Burger king out in Asbury Park (don't remember what I ordered), as well as 2 bottled waters... whenever I do those long ass NJ fans, I always carry some type of snack from home anyway.... The armed guards @ ft. dix.... yeh, when that happened, my first thoughts were one of, ah great, which one'a y'all on this bus done killed somebody.... I showed them my NYS ID, dude gave me a strange look, I shrugged my shoulders & smirked & that was the end of it.... In my mind I was like, an ID is an ID; do I have to be from Jersey or Philly to ride this bus, wtf.... For those who never been on the 317 in that area... be prepared to have military come on the bus.... props to 553 for layin that out there.... No ID, and you will get kicked off the bus - It happened on the bus I was on; some hispanic guy.....

B35 via Church Posted January 19, 2012 Share #40 Posted January 19, 2012 The driver I had (short dude; looked like a younger version of larenz tate... maybe 553 might know who I'm talkin bout... lol) took a leak at lakewood..... I took the 317 from Asbury Park to Philly, never took it SB..... Wait, wow. So you have to have some form of ID (Drivers License at least right) or you're kicked out of the bus, even if you paid for a full fare to the last stop? I don't know if it necessarily has to be a driver's license, but you gotta have ID, especially to disembark inside/within ft dix.... out of panic, I didn't wanna risk showin the guard my work ID & having him say somethin like *you need a state ID*... I don't know nothin about ft. dix, and I wadn't tryna get stuck out there... lol... about refunds & what not..... I thought about that after the fact (after that same hispanic guy got let off the bus).... all I remember hearing the guard say is "you can't ride past this point with no ID".... If I knew about that rule before I decided to fan the 317 beforehand, I would have never taken it full.... I probably would've never took it period.... When I got on @ Asbury pk, the driver didn't ask any of us (passengers) for no ID, nor did he ask are we going to ft dix.... anyway, dude got on at lakewood terminal, don't know where he was going though.... I don't recall the driver giving him a refund, or an xfer... I would've been in that same boat if I didn't carry my wallet that day.... (sometimes I don't carry my wallet bad habit, I know)... Does the bus have any stops within the millitary facility itself (so they're trying to stop people from sneaking on or something)? If it's just one, wouldn't it be easier to just ID anybody getting off at the stop? 553 Bridgeton Posted January 22, 2012 Share #50 Posted January 22, 2012 There isn't a stop, but many stops.....ppl board also. A military vehicle follows the bus to make sure no one thats not suppose to get off doesn't get off. Hold up so you mean that tacky strip mall is worth putting on a destination sign? Like B35 I always assumed they were talking bout the transit center. They should have just put via WRTC that would make more sense IMO. But our dest. sign ppl are lazy ppl.
