3253: Far Rockaway and 4401: ex QV NYCT -> both JFK retired with no farebox

3638: JFK marked as retired. The old gen hybrid has its door opened with no farebox.

Unit in bold means it's been substituted in which units are found as retired or not. 3253 was by mistake to be put as heavy maintence

At JFK Depot, I apologize for the redundant repeat but this is a note that as of now, 4401 is removed from passenger service and held for parts (retired only from service but kept at the depot in need for parts). This bus is next to the two LFS that are being tested for service in the future (seen from a photo as well) and the farebox, radio and some front parts have been removed from the unit.

* It's been sitting at the same spot next to 3600 as a parts unit and 3531 in spotting from the depot sidewalk.

A cone is placed in the middle of the unit as it’s being removed at this time with the Next Gens from BP that’s close to it, 4625.

That's one of the few that has the 2004-2005 destination signs similar to 6490-6689. I think #3502 and #3512 are others.

#3506 and #3510 also have the signs as well. That means we're down to only 4 units with those signs.

* 4686: CS retired from service. This unit has no farebox while passing through the Citi field overpass.

* About 4008, appreciate the update. It was listed back then on its past updates and no word has said to being retired. But, then, it was stated as it's running but no GPS as a number error to the list (not a big concern to this thread as a big issue).

4686 unretired.

Thanks for the note on 4686 being active from the above post.

* As of today, 10.13.23: 3500 at JFK is now retired and to scrap. This unit last week has its OMNY base turned off but today, this unit has no more Farebox.

3500 still at JFK, just returned from Zerega with it's tracker on.

3367: Eastchester retired from passenger service but used as a parts unit.

Void unit for 3668, JFK unit that's active from being repaired but before marked for retirement or not for now.

3643: JFK now retired and terminated from passenger service.
* This old Gen unit has its Farebox and OMNY removed as there’s LFS and for now, BP Next Gens in placement.

Edited by Calvin
This is meant for an old Gen to be retired this week at JFK: 3668 in placement is 3643

Not sure where to put this so here it goes.

Does the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey still have there Orion VIIs or have they all retired?

They still do.

The hybrids I know are still around, the diesels, I'm not sure.

Next time, use the random thoughts thread.

Just to answer this once and not go off topic after, yes most of their Orions remain in service. The units were to be all retired by recently implemented Proterras however they're still around as the Proterras have issues. (That's why JFK ordered a few D40LFs from another agency to fill in for when Proterras can't make service).

4585: East New York swing bus scrapped. No longer found at the said depot.

4457: at LaGuardia used as a parts unit for the rest of the 135 Next Gens at said depot. Has not entered service since it moved from Zerega.
