R421969 Posted January 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2009 If you can bring back any car ( either with restoration or with thousands of dollars of rebuilding them from scratch ), which car would it be?
MattTrain Posted January 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 7, 2009 This is easy, I'd bring back the R30 cars, painted red and have them run on the , or maybe have them run on the BMT lines and , not sure if it has a sign though. Well R30's would be cool.

SubwayGuy Posted January 8, 2009 Share #12 Posted January 8, 2009 If all things were possible, and they're not... -rehab BMT Standards to operable condition for fantrips -rehab BMT D types to operable condition for fantrips -bring back an IRT Composite, save it and send it to the Transit Museum fleet (no original IRT cars exist) -bring back the BMT Experimental fleet, and save that too...(all of the BMT Experimental fleet was scrapped)

MTR Admiralty Posted January 9, 2009 Share #18 Posted January 9, 2009 Same here. Either the BMT Standard or the R10 (I was only 11 months old when they were retired). Don't forget the Triplexes and the BMT D cars and the Bluebirds. I am not sure about the C, I heard they were really not much to look at.
SevenEleven Posted January 9, 2009 Share #19 Posted January 9, 2009 Rebuild the R110 and the Redbird fleets. I would rebuild the R110 and throw in some updated parts. Take out the strip map, and replace them with FINDs. Replace 'time/dest/next stop' indicator with the ones from the R143. Update the announcements, computer OS, and keep the bucket seating and call it a day. As for the Redbirds, just GOH them, and run them back on the IRT. Loved the lines back then. Too bad the R32, and R40S will be added to this list in time.
R421969 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Share #20 Posted January 9, 2009 True...it is sad but im glad because I appreciated them. i wonder if ill be saying the same in 40 years when im 59 years old talking bout " dam, imma miss those R160s "...imagine that! R32 Anthony Posted January 11, 2009 Share #24 Posted January 11, 2009 Of course I will say the R32-42's when they retire. Now I want to see them bring back the R33-36 World's Fair cars. I miss taking them to Shea Stadium. In 2003, I waited for them. Missed a lot of R62's in order to catch my World's Fair cars. I would love to see them bring back the R27/ R30 cars with the MTA paint scheme (white with the blue stripe.)
R421969 Posted January 11, 2009 Author Share #25 Posted January 11, 2009 that would be a nice paint scheme to bring back. oh why oh why did blue stripes become the must have and then vanished in the 90's...hmm
