Also, Franklin Avenue Shuttle is single track north of Botanical Garden.

When Franklin Avenue Shuttle gets held up at Botanical Garden to let shuttle from Franklin Av (C)(S) station to get into Botanical Garden Station, so shuttle could go.

Also, you could wait at waiting area at Botanical Garden and when shuttle comes, it indicates on display screen (don't know how to call that thing)

you & hundreds of other ppl.... that's a very common commute sis...

you got your stations mixed up though....

- Botanic Garden is the stop on the (S) - you'll be coming from Franklin av on the (2)(3)(4)(5)....

- you'll be transferring to the Prospect Park station on the (B)(Q)

Franklin av on the (S) connects you to the (C) @ Fulton st.... that's the last stop of the shuttle on the northern end....

(while prospect park is the last stop of the shuttle on the southern end)

IRT Bronx Express gave you a link to the timetable... check it out.

But in general, no, it's not a long wait for the shuttle at all (well, assuming we're talking about weekday travel).... lucky you ;)

Depends on where in Brooklyn the OP needs to go.. Atlantic Av could be too far a 'detour' just to skip an extra transfer.

It's not much of a detour, why take 2 transfers to get to the Q when you can just take one transfer at Atlantic Ave. You'd rather get off at Franklin Ave; wait for the S then get off at Prospect and wait for a Q? Rather then get off at Atlantic for direct transfer to the Q?

Another issue is that, at Prospect Park, many (S) trains discharge the passengers on the northbound side (the trains laid over on the southbound side are out of service. If the train is going to make another trip, it will discharge on the northbound side).

Assuming you need to go south of Prospect Park (if you're going to 7th Avenue, I would suggest just taking the (2) or (3) to Grand Army Plaza and then walking), that means that you have to go up the stairs and then come back down, which could result in you missing the train.

Going back, there is usually an (S) waiting across the platform at Prospect Park (At least there was when when I lived in Brighton Beach 7 years ago)
