MTA Bus Operations: Fleet & Depots

East New York

Any bus in said depot was assigned to any route in said depot.  Same is true for today.  A given bus in a depot is not assigned to the same route.  This is how NYCT operates.

Granted, when a depot has artics and/or coaches, they typically run on specific routes...

I wonder with Meredith going to close at least during the summer season, will Yukon Depot take back the 2400 series Prevosts that they transfered?

JFK still has their 7 XD-40s, 9313-9319. Although, they aren't used yet but, you may see them in-service when all the Orion VII Old Gen Hybrids are off the MTA NYC area.

That remains to be seen. If that happens, the 3 depots are slated for 25 buses each since Meredith does carry 75 buses in that depot

Speaking of new AEB, what ever happened to the LFSE+/Van hool test orders? It's not to sound impatient, but I thought they would have been delivered by now.

All these depots falling apart and they more worried about things like congestion pricing and catching people who don't pay.

Not to say don't, but when your main focus is money and politics it adds up for sure. Don't even get me started on how they was about to try and charge marathon runners for going on the verazanno bridge and it was so bad even hochul had to overturn it. Ridiculous....

Priority #1 is to fix and maintain depot structures, not congesting pricing and fare evasion. Those two should be priority #2.

They need to do something about East New York depot. Look at the damage right there.

They need to replace the building fast cuz if the walls break, that’s it for East New York. They started doing Jamaica Depot with upgraded equipment, East New York needs to be next with the others that need to be in the age of the future

I thought East New York was getting a rebuild already to the old building?? I think that’s only for when it gets Electric XE40s I could be wrong, but yeah ENY needs to get rebuilt already we don’t want another Kingsbridge Depot Collapse

I'm not sure why people are acting as if the MTA has the money to rebuild and fix off their property? They are a government agency, they will need money to fix the vast system we have in this city. Our depots are very old, they were old trolley barns for a lot of them, they need to be rebuilt or renovated, but at the same time look how long its taking for Jamaica bus depot to even get rebuilt. This was planned years ago, but construction won't even start until when? Next year?

The MTA needs money, but the MTA needs to also be freed from being a pawn for politicians as well.
