They might as well send 5920-5922 back to NJT then. A&C is already working fine with the 6400s. I have a feeling they are also there too

5921 still with A&C can confirm. Has an out of service sticker on it with a few other buses. Looks like those buses haven't ran in sometime.

I can’t keep up with Meadowlands buses as a lot are not running.

I have been back in NJ for almost a week now.  I haven't seen 5283 or 5284 on any Washington Twp bus route.  Newton Avenue ( Camden) has been loaning them an NABI almost everyday for the 400 and 403.   Also curious why Camden bus 19145 is down the Shore @ Egg Harbor Twp.  They usually have the abundance of MCIs.  Camden and Turnersville have borrowed from them several times this year ( especially Turnersville).   I know 18080 and 18105 were at Newton Avenue for a while ( presumably for maintenance) but I have noticed they're back down the Shore now and in service.

They must have sent it back, but it was a swap because they lost 5201.

19145 has been put on the fleet sheet at EHT. EHT is short on mcis, we never get enough buses, nabis have been showing back up on the 553 again. 8271 has been retired with no replacement, 8021 was retired with no replacement. 7184 and 7186 was suppose to stay another 3 years but they retired them with no replacement. Meadowlands doesn’t even want to give up any extra buses. 7422 is at cmf possibly pending retirement with no replacement in sight. These 18000s are crapping. Newton av uses the least amount of mcis and yet they almost got as much as we do. 19145 is staying for the the time being.

Would the non lav ex-Saddle River MCIs help out south?

Wow I forgot about 8021 and 8271, yes there is a huge bus shortage then down here in SJ.   Hopefully some of those 16000 demos or a few new 21000s make it to NJ and help out both Egg Harbor Twp and Turnersville.  I know they just retired 7515, I saw 7516 on the 42 freeway this week while I was driving back from Deptford but I am sure its days are numbered as well.

The buses that are tracking with 16xxx fleet numbers are D4500CT's that are being built in Winnipeg. The 16xxx refers to the last five digits of the VIN (or the unit number), not the NJT fleet number. I think MCI is doing this to distinguish them from the buses that are being built in Pembina.

It looks like Coach USA will be taking over the Middlesex County local routes from Academy. Not sure how it's all gonna play out, but my speculation is that they'll just transfer 6148-6184 from Academy Perth Amboy to Coach USA's operations.

Also 5633 was spotted in New Brunswick today training Coach USA drivers for these routes.

And the fact that Coach USA also bid for the #2, and #88 routes in Jersey City don't be surprised if those routes go away, if and when, they assume to take control over those two routes.

To clarify: I saw that they bid for those 2 routes, but if I'm wrong about it, then disregard. Might've been a rumor, idk.

UPDATE: looks like Coach USA will actually be using different NABIs (perhaps their 6057-6126?) for the Middlesex County routes instead of Academy Perth Amboy's 6148-6184.

It would be best if Academy Perth Amboy gave those NABIs to Suburban. The deadhead to/from Paramus is unnecessary for local routes

7801 is done. Black paint.

To add insult to injury it looks like 19145 was sent back up the Expressway to Camden also. Noticed it back on the 409 over the weekend.  It looks like we are down to just 3 old buses left in SJ one for each garage.  7516 (TWP) 7442 (EHT) and 7645 ( Camden). Hopefully relief comes by the Spring/Summer season.

Yeah they sent it back. There won’t be no relief unless they get those ex saddle 17s in service. Mgt don’t want the 7100s in south jersey. The Detroit’s EHT we don’t have parts for them or 7100s/9000s. At some point when the summer schedule hits especially at EHT, there’s no way we can make service this year. Newton Av doesn’t need 18126-129.
